Ideas for duck themed Christmas

I would like ideas on how to make this Christmas duck themed. Why you ask?

I decided I would (based on an idea I saw here) hide some small rubber ducks around the house on Christmas day and the kids get £1 for each one they find. Just a way to make giving them cash a bit silly and take a bit longer.

The kids asked for a hint for one of their presents and I made a quacking sound. They seem very excited by this and sem to think I will be doing a hook a duck.

So now I am thinking I could make all the ways they get their presents duck themed.

Its just me and 2 kids age 10 and 14. Their presents are smaller and more expensive every year! We don't have any other family and I want Christmas to be fun activites as well as opening presents. We all love escape rooms and puzzles.

So I wondered if anyone else had any ideas for how to fun ways to find their presents and/or ways to make Christmas duck themed.

So far the only extra ideas I have is a duck shaped Pinata and a treasure hunt with duck themed clues. Could dress the dogs up as ducks I suppose?

At first I thought how ridiculous but the idea has grown on me and I love it. Amazon will be bursting with duck ideas and pin the beak on the 🦆 is great for both kids and adults.

My mum has the Australian women’s weekly birthday cake recipie book. And this duck in it, brings back lots of memories. And it’s not the only wonderfully hideous picture in the book 😂

Little bags of proper wild duck food put into the quackers. Perhaps envelopes with food in and a place written on to go for walks after christmas to feed ducks.

Wind-up toy race? Ideal for the dining table too. We buy different characters each year.

Everybody has a different duck (or one with their name on). One player is blindfolded, and the others place their ducks in lots of different places on the floor. The player who cannot see is spun around, and the object of the game is to try to make them step on your duck, by making a quacking sound, so that they walk towards you. Of course, everyone is doing this all at once! Whoever's duck gets touched first wins the round.

Out of interest does anyone know if resin is better for the environment than new plastic? Trying to shop more mindfully, which is hard when the goal posts seem to shift every .10 seconds!

Lots of Duck things on Temu and Shein - if you want to keep costs down.

You could do hook a duck with two colours of duck, each with numbers on the bottom which connect to a present with the same number on it. (One colour of duck for each DC so they don't end up with each other's presents)

You could make crispy roast duck pancakes for dinner.

Duck fairy lights exist. You could put them on the tree or along the mantelpiece or up the staircase.
