I've finally made a start on my Xmas shopping having ordered a pair of Crocs each for my mum and dad.

I'm normally half done by now but held off this year. How is everyone else doing?

All done and wrapped!

johndeer · 25/10/2024 17:11

Mostly done, mostly wrapped. Shopped as the sales popped up through the year.

frecklejuice · 25/10/2024 17:16

I've normally bought a fair bit by now but all I've got are theatre tickets for me and my 10 year old, kids haven't given me any idea and I'm stuck!

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 25/10/2024 17:17

Nearly done, just a few bits left to get. Not wrapped yet tho.

taggy321 · 25/10/2024 17:27

5 minutes on the bargain thread and I've now bought a 3D pen for each DC and an LOL doll and Bitzee for DD.

Going to spend the day at the actual shops on Tuesday - love the idea of wrapping as I go but it'll never happen!

Made Christmas cake and mincemeat, and bought one pressie for DH which DS wants me to pass over to him! Does that count?

Soccermumamir · 25/10/2024 17:55

Haven't even started 😆

SparklyLimeJoker · 25/10/2024 17:59

All done and wrapped as I bought. Just waiting for 2 pre-orders to arrive mid November.

GettingStuffed · 25/10/2024 19:29

I've done my dad and sister, now only the kid's families to do .

afaloren · 25/10/2024 20:00

I’ve bought a few things for mum. Haven’t had her list yet tho!

sunshineinabag2 · 25/10/2024 20:08

@taggy321 would you mind sharing where the bargain thread is? I can't find it anywhere.

I've got a few bits I'm normally much more organised. Just bought the smiggle advent calendars which are half price!

hattie43 · 25/10/2024 20:12

Mostly done and just a couple of main presets to get but holding out for batter value eg Lego set gets a freebie after oct 28th

None wrapped up though despite all wrap / ribbons / tags bought

WinterMorn · 25/10/2024 20:31

I can’t believe this thread, it’s not even Halloween! How are people done and wrapped already?

Don't bother with Halloween, that's just come from America in recent years .
Christmas is the focus in this house and bring uber busy in December means I like everything done .

Sprogonthetyne · 26/10/2024 08:02

I started yesterday, only because I was getting DC a toy from B&m that was 2 for £20, so might as well get a second thing to put away.

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 26/10/2024 09:55

I’m about 75% done, but nothing wrapped.

Tiddlywinkly · 26/10/2024 09:59

I've made a start. I spread it over 3 months for financial reasons, but also because I leave most of the kid related stuff until December because they change their minds!

I'm late this year! I'm done and wrapped because I also have birthdays next to Christmas and have to ship everything.

Itsmeamandaberry · 26/10/2024 19:18

@hattie43 no it didn't. It's been a thing in Scotland and Ireland since my gran was little and she's 94. So annoying when English people come out with that

Well done on those have started. I'm starting next week

anon202420252026 · 26/10/2024 19:22

Could someone link the bargain thread please? I tried to search and nothings come up

It was so much better back in the days of absolute torture carving the neep lantern and then going out guising saying " penny for the guy " for the bonfire night preparations or when we did say " trick or treat " us kids were expected to perform a wee sing along etc at the door in order to receive the treat. Costumes were witches capes made out of bin liners and a mask etc. I'm glad I was a child of the 80s in scotland 😊 then came the americanised adoptions of pumpkins etc.
