What are you doing today (Christmas Eve)?

I am going to watch a Christmas movie and make Christmas crackers this morning 😋 Then I might do a quick tidy (definitely not spending ages on tidying today) then when dp and ds come down I will be making Santa cookies and breadstick wands with ds 🤗
We’re going to Toby Carvery for tea and then we will open our Christmas Eve boxes when we get back home 🎅 Dp is then going to do bath time with ds with the LUSH Santa bath bomb that is in his box whilst I bring the presents down and fill their stockings 🎄
If ds goes to bed without too much fuss then me and dp might watch a movie before going to bed but we’ll have to see if he goes to bed first 😂

I've just got home from work (I was in at 4am)

Contemplating whether to have a nap or just power on until the end of the day 😂

Off to my dad's later as is usual for Christmas Eve for a buffet

Hopefully a nap, an the last bit of tidying. I'd really like to do my hair.

Wrapping family gifts with my 4 year old. She is helpfully labelling them by copying the names onto tags (a skill I didn't know she had!).

Then a nice afternoon with in laws topped off by a light dinner and cheese plate.

We've been for our traditional walk into town for the sprout stalk and parsnips, visit to the cheese monger to add to the yummy collection in the fridge, and Costa. My dad gave us some money for Christmas, yesterday, so I bought the Murdle book with some of mine & will keep the rest for now. Also nipped in Waterstones and eyed up some new board games/card games with the girls for over the in-betweeny days.

Just having a coffee before starting food prep for tomorrow. Then there's nothing to do but chill with a glass of something nice and maybe a bit of crochet.

Oh, the washer's going too - dd2 announced this morning that she has a pile to be done 🙄

Panic buying food at Waitrose, making food to take to parents house tomorrow, keeping kids entertained, packing, wrapping, drinking....
cheese / pies / quality street.
Won't poo for a month.

I've had a lovely lie in, cooked the chicken and stuffing for tomorrow. About to watch a film, then showers all round before a takeaway, (Chinese for me) with movie marathons. Ds1 and 2 will get their Xmas eve boxes before tea also 😊

Home alone as DH is working until late. Adult dcs are here later. I have a slow cooker full of chilli for dinner. I've just hung dcs stockings and checked everything fits in them.

I might cook the chickens for tomorrow? We got 3 spatchcock. Mil is coming too.

Just watched Here we go Christmas special. Really enjoyed it.

Off to my sisters soon for a buffet with the family an hour away. Be back around 7pm to make sausage rolls and get sorted for tomorrow

Right now I am eating a sandwich and following Santa and his sleigh on Flightradar!

Off to the pub soon with one of the dc and their partner. Then back for a snooze, then a film with the other 2

The kids have just moved out, locally so are doing various activities in their own homes, all getting together tomorrow and s-i-l cooking dinner. Me and my beautiful dog have had a windy walk, then I baked some 'Xmas scones", and have just finished one smeared with President butter and clotted cream. Should be starting the wrapping but can't be arsed to move. Need eggs, milk and self raising flour and ONE MORE BASTARD PRESENT so got til 3 to move 🤔🎄

I hoovered, mopped and polished all through the house. Changed the bed. Did some ironing. GH and I are going to meet both AC and their partners and all the GC in a couple of hours, for drinks. After that, a cosy evening and a film.

I'm procrastinating on the sofa! So it might be helpful to list what I have to do -
Wrap a couple more presents
Hassle DD to tidy room
Hoover up, put away washing
Cook tea (pasta)
Make gingerbread with DD
Watch the Ink master final
Give DD her new jamas to wear
Have a laugh w/DH when he gets in from work.

Sunbathing and listening to my audiobook

I'm in bed with coffee & Krispy Kreme original glazed donut !
I'm about to get up & cook a slow cooked ragu for dd who doesn't like ham - which I'll also cook for myself & dh. The ragu can go in the freezer & it will make an easy pasta or lasagne dinner afrer Christmas.

Dh has to go to town for last minute bits& pieces - I don't as I've done all mine! Think I'll light the fire & pour a glass of wine & plonk my arse on the sofa with my book

Preparing a Xmas Eve buffet for our open house that we always host - the kids and their friends are here until they go out for the evening then friends and neighbours as well as any of DH's colleagues call in the only rule is it all ends at midnight promptly as need to be on form for the big day!!

After unblocking the poo filled toilet this morning, which led to full clean of x2 bathrooms and washing downstairs floor, I am now in the bath. When I get out I'll get kids to wrap dh present, put some stuff in loft then me and dcs will make pigs in blankets! Hurruh!

Late up, braved the wind & rain to walk the dogs and now all of us are relaxing/napping on the sofa.
Cheese & biscuits for supper and a couple of decent TV progs to watch.

Did a spin class first thing. DH and DS have been prepping the beef wellington. I instructed DS on how to make Tiramisu, which we always have as pudding at Christmas. DS is good at cooking savory dishes but hasn't done much in the way of puddings or baking.
I've put 2 loads of washing on, hoovered and am now cooking the ham. Should be doing the ironing now but I'm watching Songs of Praise Carols instead.

Had a lie on. Now tidying and cleaning the house.
Using Father Christmas as a reason to get the kids to tidy their rooms.

Will be going to the 4pm crib service at the church then tea, bath and get the kids to sleep.
Then the organising starts.

Have been to work, all handed over now and not in till Boxing Day 😊 Cooking the gammon cos I forgot yesterday! Dragging the 3 adult children to the cathedral later for carols, then DD is going out and we're hosting mother in law for tea

Going to booths to get a festive too good to go bag... fingers crossed!

I'm at the gym. Burning calories in advance 😀

I've done some tidying and bed changing ready for the in laws later. DH went and did some last minute jobs and dropping off, I cooked some veg to take to my mums tomorrow (she's hosting 16 of us).

We've now brought the kids (4 and 7) out to the local zoo, walked them round the animals, been in the park and now we're in the soft play here trying to wear them out 😂

Then it's home, DH has bathrooms to clean, I'm making sausage rolls. Maybe a film depending on time but then bath and bed for the kids, Chinese for us with the in laws!

Dog walk this morning, hot chocolate in the cafe after, now home on the sofa heavily pregnant wondering if baby will arrive!
