I am going to watch a Christmas movie and make Christmas crackers this morning 😋 Then I might do a quick tidy (definitely not spending ages on tidying today) then when dp and ds come down I will be making Santa cookies and breadstick wands with ds 🤗
We’re going to Toby Carvery for tea and then we will open our Christmas Eve boxes when we get back home 🎅 Dp is then going to do bath time with ds with the LUSH Santa bath bomb that is in his box whilst I bring the presents down and fill their stockings 🎄
If ds goes to bed without too much fuss then me and dp might watch a movie before going to bed but we’ll have to see if he goes to bed first 😂

Had a lie in; made mince pies & then we all went out to a local pub for lunch with PIL & DBIL.
Played a few board games; then DH took DS out for a Pokemon walk whilst DD & I watch Pottery Showdown.
Now going to watch a film before getting the kids to bed.
A really nice chilled day.

I’ve made some moderately unsuccessful mince pies to take to my SIL tomorrow. I’ve not made pastry for ages as I’ve been seriously dieting for around 18 months and lost loads of weight due partly to no baking so I’m a bit out of practice. Reached my goal weight this morning!

Ive tried for days to get the smoke smell out of a second hand toy buggy in bought for DD. Ive taken the last resort and unpicked the stitching so i can chuck it in the washing machine. Looks like ill be sewing that back on this evening and replacing the base board with some thick foamboard 🥲

We have our christmas dinner on Christmas eve (it's a game changer, honestly, I don't spend Christmas day slaving away in the kitchen on bare sleep). So we have had a lazy morning. I started cooking at around 2pm then we played some Christmas games while everyone waited for their dinner. The kids had their Xmas eve presents and later this evening my husband and I will exchange our gifts. We are all in the festive mood and looking forward to a chilled out day tomorrow with more presents, Christmas movies and buffet food.

Recovering from a bad dose of Covid. Just played some board games, which ended in chaos and arguments. Going to watch a Xmas film and try and to go to bed early.

Took delivery of the Christmas food shop this morning, played fridge Tetris.

Cooked the ham, roasted some nuts.

Put some washing away, last bit of cleaning.

Sat watching telly now.

Just one present to wrap in situ later and the rest to bring in from office.

I made mince pies, DH made the red cabbage for tomorrow and prepped the potatoes. Hour long walk on the muddy common, stopped off on the way back and bought more wine and After Eights. Had lunch, lit the log burner and did some of my jigsaw and listened to The Archer's Omnibus. Dropped DS at his girlfriend's. Now thinking about ordering a takeaway away and will watch Carols At Kings.

Happy Christmas to you all!

I tidied/cleared out two of the kitchen cupboards and two drawers in the bedroom, that I’ve been meaning to do for ages, while DH walked the dog. Put away the ironing and cooked lunch. Walked the dog this afternoon and spent ages browsing for art materials.
A lazy evening ahead 😊

Cooked the ham, made potato farls with bacon for lunch and just about to eat our traditional Scandi Christmas Eve supper: beetroot cured gravalax with pickled cucumbers and Jansens Temptation. Earlier DS1 and I made a time plan for lunch tomorrow as we are cooking this year - only for us, DH and DS2 though, so not stressful. Have one present to wrap and going to Midnight Mass which our local church has very sensibly rerouted to 9.30! Will watch Pottery Showdown on catch up when we get back, do the stockings and put the presents under the tree, then bed.

We had our Christmas today! Dc are going to their dads so we moved ours a day and had a really nice time. We had a huge lunch, they opened their gifts and we went for a walk and played games.

They've been picked up now so I'm in the bath and feeling relaxed for the first time in December!!

Giggorata · 24/12/2023 19:55

Put up the tree, stuck the presents under it and spent some time in The Big Cupboard, looking for baubles. I gave away loads last year but we still seem to have boxes of them.
I made lasagne and then loaded up my van with things to take to our storage unit after Xmas.
DH went out and cut some holly and Ivy for the mantlepiece, hand delivered the village Xmas cards, chopped wood, lit the stove and did the dogs.
Carols on the village green tonight but didn't stay long, as I'm tired. There's just us this year, so we're quite low key.
We were given a brace of pheasants, which I will process later (We were expecting partridge, so nice surprise)
Mulled wine and the ghost story on TV tonight. 🎄

Slept in then we met a family friend (in her 90s and doing well) for lunch, dash to Wholefoods for soup for sister with covid, wrapped last few presents, now just chilling thinking about some supper and then movie.

Xmas is the the worst time of the year 100%

Nothing make you realise how far behind you are compared to all your friends and how much of a terrible person you must be, because once again it's another Xmas single and alone. Just about given up

I hear you. Didn't want your message to be missed.
