I need to -

Wrap all the gifts apart from four 🙄 thankfully not loads.

Ice/decorate Christmas cakes

Find a gift for my dad - not a clue there 🤷‍♀️

Wrap dd2's birthday gifts & book piercing for that

Need to finish work first though - I am knackered & crawling to the end of term <BIG YAWN> & found out today I'm expected in for training days - why no-one's mentioned this in 2 years I do not know but I've never been in for them since taking the position 🙄

Tonight's job is clean my fridge ready for the BIG SHOP arriving tomorrow evening.

How about you?

Buy FIL’s present because the delivery won’t be here before Christmas.

Wrap all the presents.

Host my little ones first birthday party - weeping in cleaning up 🙃🤣

Visit great grandparents.

Do last food shop bits.

Feel like this is my first Christmas “on the other side” being a mum now and the pressure is palpable - it’s been such an eye opener in terms of money and organisation 😂😂 god help me when the babs is older!

lucysmam · 19/12/2023 17:24

@velvetoptions nope, I never signed it - have been making a nuisance of myself for that long to have it corrected.

that is horrendous

so you joined without signing a contract and have been waiting 2 years for one?

velvetoptions · 19/12/2023 17:29

the wrongly uploaded one sounds preferable to the correct one!

Thislittlekitten · 19/12/2023 17:35

@lucysmam Sending you Christmas energy and hope you enjoy your break.

Very jealous of all the bakers. I’d love gifts of homemade cakes and mince pies.

I have a few bits to buy and finish wrapping. I don’t know why I keep putting it off.

All the veg to buy and another pudding. Meat is all organised. Actually I do need stuff for Christmas Day breakfast.

I really need to clean the house but like other I’m so exhausted. Work in hospitality so it’s our busiest time.

I need to wrap the older kid's presents, and my husband's presents.

Buy gifts for three couples and wrap, unsure of what to buy of course.

Buy the Christmas food.

Sort an outfit for Boxing Day - I will probably just use something I have as I don't fancy searching onine for anything.

I'm feeling bad about the lack of gifts for the kids, so I'm at odds with myself on whether I actually should buy more or not.

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 19/12/2023 18:28
  • Buy DDs presents fir my parents (supermarketable)
  • decorate crimbo cake which I'm taking with me to work (plenty of large tables in quiet rooms) as I'm making marzipan decorations and topping it like a simnel. Indeed it is a simnel cake, it's what we like
  • put together gingerbread house
  • buy shampoo and conditioner fir DDs stocking
  • wrap the couple of bits for her stocking I'm waiting for

that is it. I'm back to work tomorrow abd as I'm out for 12 hours every day until Christmas Eve it's good I'm at this point. Everything left is just pleasant jobs

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 19/12/2023 18:30

Oh and buy veg. I've got all the other food

CrackersCheeseAndWinePlease · 19/12/2023 18:34

My left to do list is:
Work 3 more shifts at work
Wrap dd19 and dd16 presents, youngest DD's are wrapped.
Wrap 2 coworkers presents
Wrap mums present
Tonight's job is to treat myself to a well deserved wine

emmetgirl · 19/12/2023 18:37

Nothing.
I don't do Xmas.
Totally stress free!

That is about as useful as me going on an Eid thread and helpfully saying I have nothing to do for it

Menomeno · 19/12/2023 18:45

I’ve still got to buy most of the presents and wrap them, clean the house, and buy all the food. And today I’ve come down with Covid. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Just feel like cancelling it all.

TheGirlWhoLived · 19/12/2023 18:49

Mmm lots of presents to wrap- all 3 kids tree presents. I’m not convinced that ds(2) is going to leave them wrapped so I’ve left it as late as possible!
I might buy a couple of last minute bits for them in the new look sale on Friday so will wrap those as and when.
Food shop is being done Friday as well

Thekormachameleon · 19/12/2023 18:50

Buy wrapping paper and gift bags
Wrap all the gifts
Food shop
Clean entire house
Take son a 2 hour round trip to dentist
4c 12 hour shifts at work
A night out

Oh and as of this morning, get a new boiler fitted 🙄😩

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 19/12/2023 19:46

Pack the santa sacks and stockings. Helpfully, DS is sick and not in school so that's easier said than done. I'm hoping to get him back to school on Thursday to give me a clear run at it. I mean, the kids are 13 and 11 so I could just disappear into my room and leave strict instructions for them not to come in, but that sounds too tense.

Aside from that, it's just a bit of food prep over the weekend, and a gingerbread house for the kids to assemble. I think that's all.

TiredOfYourNonsense · 19/12/2023 19:52

I need to get some buffet food in for Boxing day, but as a lot of the supermakets will be open that day, I'll get it then. I'll also give the place a vacuuming that day, too.

Cards all distributed, presents all wrapped and distributed.

housethatbuiltme · 19/12/2023 20:04

Need to:

  • stuff the Christmas crackers
  • wrap 1 present
  • tidy the house
  • do the Xmas food shop

I'm leaving birthday stuff until the week after Xmas. Now that hes a teen theres no big kids party to organize so its just presents, cake, restaurant and activity which can be done more leisurely and in a go with the flow way in the week after xmas.

Torganer · 19/12/2023 20:04

Finished work today, going to have a fun day out tomorrow with my husband and a swanky champagne lunch.

All we need to do is wrap presents, but I really look forward to it. Will do it when the children are asleep tomorrow night with Christmas music, canapés, and some festive cocktails! Then will spend the next few days pottering about (we live in London so there are lots of festive things to do, walks by the Thames, markets, lights etc. I am very excited, I really love Christmas!!

We thought DD(2) would unwrap everything so I started with wrapped empty boxes to test it. She hasn't been remotely interested in the gifts which are now all under the tree, Her older brothers are more intrigued than her.

She has however picked every shiny doodad off the tree up as far as she can reach for her secret stash of magic treasure.

TurkeyMalarkey · 19/12/2023 20:12

Clean my shit tip house.
Wrapping…so much wrapping.

CrispsandCheeseSandwich · 19/12/2023 20:14

Working until Thursday, and just have a few presents left to wrap and the Christmas cake to ice. May make another batch of mince pies but we'll see.

FraterculaArctica · 19/12/2023 20:22

I have to wrap almost all presents, write Christmas cards, shop for and assemble mini hampers for DBs, collect goose, collect baby guinea pigs... Not sure what else!

Beginningless · 19/12/2023 20:35

Useful to have a place to put a list!

  • all the wrapping
  • pack as we are going away for 3 days
  • clean inside of car
  • A bit of tidying but not too bad

I’ve not been looking forward to going to in-laws and grumbling a bit but have to say that now this week is here and I’m not preparing to host or having to buy all the food for a bazillion different occasions.

psuedocream3 · 19/12/2023 20:57

Thank you for this thread op, I've just bought gift cards for the couples.
