I've searched for threads on this as I'm sure there must be some?

What's everyone planning for Christmas Eve dinner this year?

Normally we have all the family at ours christmas eve but this year dgd, dd and I have something booked and will be out most of the day. So it's just Dh and I for dinner and I've pre booked food from M&S and Sainsburys coquilles St jaques and a cheesy seafood sharing bake thing. It'll be a nice break from either of us cooking.

I was going to say KFC but looks like DD won’t be with us so I might do steaks.

I'm doing Mexican fish tacos with tortilla chips, home made salsa, pineapple salsa and guacamole, Mexican slaw and a bean salad.

Erm, usually we shovel something down the kids and sort ourselves something as and when we can! We host for around 22/24 people every Christmas and the cooking prep takes days along with the constant cleaning up 😂
Our Christmas eves are always manic.

Shop bought Pizza, dough balls and salad +
M&S trifle for pudding. Nice and easy before the real cooking starts on Christmas/ Boxing day.

Proper Irish ham sandwiches made with the christmas ham, brennans bread and brown sauce.

We don't do anything special. Last year we went out for dinner, other years we see friends, or just a frozen pizza or takeaway at home. I guess if we had guests we'd make more effort.

Oh wow, so many ideas!

We do the leftovers plus party food on Boxing Day, including a baked Camembert.

I'm leaning towards the nacho idea currently but will keep reading, thank you!

Fish. Always.

We do party food with a baked camembert and crusty garlic bread and usually some xmas chocolates to finish off! One of my fave traditions we've created as our little family, but when I lived with my parents we always had ham, egg and chips! :)
