One of my kids has asked for an Air Up bottle for Christmas. Almost died when I saw the price of them though. Are they worth it??

No no and no

My 13 year old puts squash in hers 🙈

JustJoinedRightNow · 03/12/2023 05:41

We bought the rip off version off Amazon for much much less, and it's quite cool.
the peach flavour and apple flavour were excellent.

Janedoe82 · 03/12/2023 05:45

Bought two, novelty lasted about three days.

RubaiyatOfAnyone · 03/12/2023 05:53

Not worth it, and even child admits it is pointless.
BUT child also says they asked for one because they were the only one in their class without one, and has used it every day for a year since getting it and is very happy to fit in with their friends’ current trend. Speaking as someone who never had that and always felt on the outside, i’d buy it again in an instant.

cakegoblin · 03/12/2023 05:58

Ooh this sounds useful - I need one too but just can’t justify it. Please could you post a link?

Mummyme87 · 03/12/2023 08:17

I’ve bought my Boys one each for Christmas after months of refusing. I’ve bought three packs of the pods also but have no intention of buying more. It will be used like a standard water bottle before long. I hear they are decent water bottles though. Got mine in Black Friday with 30% off

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 03/12/2023 08:19

My 10 year old is desperate for one and it’s top of his Xmas present list so I’ve bought one with some additional pods. I figured he’s old enough to deal with the disappointment if it’s rubbish and I think he’ll be more disappointed if he doesn’t get one

purpleme12 · 03/12/2023 08:21

My child is 10 too and has asked for this too!
I would never in a million years spend this much on a water bottle normally!

DaisyDando · 03/12/2023 08:24

I bought one on Cyber Monday because my DS had previously asked for one and I’d given a stern no. Since saying no we’ve had all manner of leaky bottles so I thought sod it.
I am a teacher and have noticed that the kids who have them in my class do look after them and they are less annoying than noisy metal bottles.
However, I subtly brought up the subject of Air Up yesterday and DS claimed he’d never wanted one. So I guess my niece is a lucky girl.

ArticWillow · 03/12/2023 08:25

Looks like nicotine free vaping disgused in a water bottle. Luckily DC didn't ask for one.

ThatLostSock · 03/12/2023 08:26

Got one for DS (for his 13th birthday). Stopped using it after 3 days!

Ostagazuzulum · 03/12/2023 08:29

No. The novelty wears off quickly. The pods are expensive. Ours was used for little bit and then resigned to back of cupboard.

A friend bought their daughter one and poss of Temu. It's apparently spot on

pancakesunday · 03/12/2023 08:33

My son pestered and pestered us for one so he had one with his birthday money and he's looked after it to be honest and uses it everyday. I was amazed as he loses most things and I didn't think it would last the week

Fulshaw · 03/12/2023 08:36

I think the idea of them is good if you have a child who doesn’t like plain water.

But yeah, they’re expensive and very few discounts around. I just gritted my teeth and bought it because like another poster above, I was always the one at school who never had the current thing.

DragMeOutOfIt · 03/12/2023 08:58

They are rubbish and they leak! My daughter has one, as do all her friends and all their parents complain they leak. Honestly I'd save your money!

troppibambini6 · 03/12/2023 09:11

It's another no here. The novelty wore off after a couple of days and they are leaky.

purpleme12 · 03/12/2023 09:14

Someone said above thread about imitations...
Wonder whether it's worth getting an imitation now...

purpleme12 · 03/12/2023 09:15

By the way do you have buy pods separately then?
So it's not just the bottle?
Is it the pods that make this flavour then?

BooksAndHooks · 03/12/2023 09:17

Yes we bought them last year or year before. Still used regularly. Have just bought more pods for them for Christmas. They don’t take them to school but are used Regularly at home.

LittleBrownBaby · 03/12/2023 09:18

My daughter loves hers (we got it Christmas last year). She buys the pods with her pocket money.

magnic · 03/12/2023 09:20

Unfortunately it was the only thing on both Christmas lists here! So I did buy two (pack of 2 special offer) but still pricey. I then received a code that I put in promotions section here. We both get 10% off if used. But tbh I won't be buying more pods, they will have to pay for them out of pocket money if novelty lasts past boxing day. Disappointed to hear they are leaky though 😕

Minimum85percentCocoa · 03/12/2023 09:20

My daughter still uses hers that she got last Christmas. I don’t think we’ve ever had a water bottle before that lasted even half as long before breaking tbh.

CornishGem1975 · 03/12/2023 09:22

We have one but she bought it with her own money, still uses it for school every day, haven't had an leak issues but we've not bought the pods in a while, so it's now an expensive water bottle, but maybe we'll get her some as a little stocking filler.

rockpoolingtogether · 03/12/2023 17:26

They are crap- they are heavy and leak

I need one and would love a code please ! It's one thing he really wants even though I might regret it !
