Where do you hide your gifts?

It's getting increasingly difficult each year to keep the gifts hidden.

Last year was a disaster when we put everything up the loft but it frosted over and when it melted water dripped ok everything 😅... this year they are locked in the ensuite toilet in the spare bedroom.

My parents were not exactly djscreet and a massive pile at the bottom of their bed covered with a sheet was about the extent of their ingenuity!

Wrapped asap then in the big suitcases in the walk in cupboard.

I lock them in a spare bedroom in loft conversion. The room has a lock on it for a reason.

Suitcases on top of the DCs wardrobes, in our wardrobe, I’m my draws and in Amazon boxs under our bed. My DCs have never had a clue, we don’t even make a big attempt at hiding some of them.

I have a secret room! My bedroom has a very small en-suite that I didn't need. Instead I put wardrobes across the wall there with a removable panel at the back of the wardrobe that opens to the en-suite. No one would know it's there and I hide my valuables in there when I go on holiday.
Sadly I don't have any kids to hide presents from but it's a genius hiding place!

I love this! Never mind valuables, I’d be hiding in there myself, but I have kids 😆

@HoHoHoliday I’m so jealous of your secret room!

My attic is out of action this year for similar reasons @slipperypenguin but we have an old sofa that was ripped underneath, so I removed the fabric at the bottom and hide gifts underneath.

It amuses me greatly that my family sit there oblivious! It’s probably just as well that I can channel my sociopathic tendencies into Christmas planning instead of hiding bodies.

I stash things in the wheel well of my car until I can smuggle them inside. Loads of space there because I don’t have a spare tyre.

Mine are all wrapped. Presents for the kids are at the top of my wardrobe and also in a big suitcase under my bed.

Presents for family and friends are wrapped and under the stairs. I've hidden those from the kids so they dont get tempted to peel the wrapping paper off 😂

Garage.

Just in the bedroom, nowhere else to hide them.

DD has probably kind of seen some of them as she is in our room but given shes only 2 she won't remember/care.

Older kids don't come in our room, we have an unspoken respect for each others 'personal space'. So none of them have even thought to try and come in our room so they don't know the presents are there (well teen has probably twigged but doesn't care).

WaitingRoomBoredom · 01/12/2023 12:20

I just wrap as I get them and put under the tree. Stocking presents go in a basket that sits on top of a wardrobe all year round so not v obvious.

Restricting · 01/12/2023 21:37

My dcs are old enough that they don't believe any more, and we had a conversation the other day about looking for presents and how I used to do it when I was younger and it always ruined the surprise on Xmas day. They admitted they had done it in the past and agreed that it does ruin the magic of Xmas morning. However, I know the urge to snoop will be too much, so their presents are hidden in the usual place under our bed, but I've put them in a big zip up bag and put a crochet tie over the zip so it can't be opened without undoing the crochet. Neither of them can crochet so they can't snoop without me knowing.

Wardrobes mostly, haven’t opened one without something falling on my head in weeks!

stargirl1701 · 01/12/2023 21:41

Father Christmas only brings one gift. Our closest neighbour is very obliging!

ConstantlyCooking · 01/12/2023 22:18

I hide mine so well that I spend Christmas Eve searching for them and find random gifts in June!

Haha I can 100% relate to this 😆

This is where an ottoman bed comes into its own. It’s too heavy for small children to lift up.
