I’m making a bauble wreath this year, with a metal coat hanger. Does anyone know how many baubles I will need, and if different sizes look better ?

Someone else asked recently, I would get a decent base rather than using a coat hanger though , they take more than you think , and need something firm to keep the shape and definitely more than one size bauble . https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4886767-bauble-wreath-tips

I want to have a go at creating my own bauble wreath this year. I've watched a few you tube videos and have standard wire coat hangers but looking for...

The Works are selling metal wreath bases for £2 and you can get a glue gun for around £5 upwards. However many baubles you think you’ll need, double it and add another ten!

You might find it cheaper to buy one, or stock up on baubles in the sales and do one next year. And definitely at least 2 different sizes, if not 3.

I’m not gluing them on, I’m looping them onto the coat hanger

Work out the actual total cost. You could end up spending £37 on it when a shop one is £6.

You could even get a shop one then modify.

I tried doing one with a hanger and they all constantly moved around and it looked rubbish.
I then went with some pipe insulation and glue gun, much easier and it looked really good.
I would use a proper base or pipe insulation if I made another:
Also must have taken about 88-100 baubles.

I’ve made bauble garlands, they are dead easy. You need a lot of baubles. Hundreds. Different sizes as well. you can use this method to make a wreath. You need a long piece of wire, fold it in half, then you thread baubles onto each end and lots of twisting/ securing. To make a wreath you need a tighter garland or your wreath will be wonky, or use some sort of frame. After making lots of these I would recommend as poster said above, checking out stores as often they are considerably cheaper than buying the baubles. If you can get a huge job lot from a charity shop you can do them quite cheaply
