I've been getting lots of adverts on FB for Søstrene Grene and thought it was all a bit too good to be true. But I realised we had a store in the nearest city so went today and oh my goodness I was in Christmas heaven.
So many decorations, crafty stuff, baking stuff, wrapping papers, candles and food.
I had the best hour I've had in a long time today and now have a winter themed living room without too much moaning from the bah humbugs I live with.
I know it sounds like I work for them or something but I promise you I don't, it was just so lovely I felt I should share it with any like minded Christmas fiends.

Love it. It's an absolute must for DD and I when we're in Chester. I don't always get something (usually do) but just a browse is lovely.

One of my favorite shops! The cotton yarn they sell is wonderful for crochet and the best quality I've come across. The wrapping paper and cards are so reasonable and cute. We always stock up on the lollipops when we visit too. The one in Nottingham has a Flying Tiger and Miniso virtually next door.

This is so weird as we went in to a gorgeous shop when in Denmark recently, bought quite a few lovely Christmas things but didn't get the name of the store...just googled Sostrene Grene and that's the one! Will need to look out for shops nearby 🙂

'Lamelie' that is a perfect description of it.
And once you start, you're a bit trapped, like IKEA, but well worth it. And I loved the wrapping station too, although I usually get pissed off when shops get you to do their work for them.

I'd never heard of them, apparently my nearest one is 160 miles away, so I don't suppose I'll be visiting any time soon!

But it looks absolutely lovely, I might get a few bits online.

Been to ours a couple of times. Nice jam, way too much tat to walk round to get to it, and from it to the till. Hate single pathway shops... IKEA,Tiger,Sostrene Grene.

It is an odd collection of stuff. But the (proper, old fashioned, runny) Gooseberry jam is nice.

I’m so tempted to make an online order, but much prefer going to physical shops, and like to soak up the atmosphere, so might have to be patient!

Over 20 years ago we lived in Stockholm and on my last morning before coming home I went to an amazing cheap children wear to stock up 🤦🏻‍♀️
(H&M were big here even then, previously Hennes and Moritz and I’d not made the connection)

I’ve just read that they plan to open 100 stores in the UK by 2030.

I really hope they open one in my town, or at least in one of the other nearby towns that I frequent for shopping.

In my town, I want the following to open:

Sostrene Grene
Tiger
Oliver Bonas
The White Company

In my town when shops close down, fast food outlets, and shops selling naff huge crystal leopards and crystal Chanel pictures in silver frames open in their place unfortunately 😔.

@SaffyWall @Vroomfondleswaistcoat I think I read it was going to be where the old bank/travel agent was, over from the pedestrian crossing from Fatface. May have imagined that though!

Hadn't heard of them before but their stuff looks lovely. Is there any way of finding out where their stores are as I've looked on their website and can't find it anywhere.

I accidentally spent a fortune in there the other day. I got:

Paper snowflakes (for hanging)

Paper christmas trees and a light up house (for a windowsill) - we have a little ceramic Father Christmas who will be joining the arrangement

Hanging garlands with clips for your Christmas cards

A few hand painted little star shaped baubles for the Christmas tree

Ribbons for wrapping

No regrets!

I'd never heard of it - looks wonderful. Unfortunately the closest store is 80+ miles away so until they open a shop in the South West it'll have to be online for me.
