Just seen first tree up at a house

Well driving home today and a house had its Christmas tree up all decorated and lights on in the front bay window!! It’s only the 30th October the clocks only went back yesterday, I mean it’s Halloween tomorrow , bonfire night at the weekend. Is it only me that think why?

Not something I could get worked up about but I do also wonder how people are not sick of them when they are up since October.

Putting the tree up here signals the start of Christmas, it just wouldn’t feel remotely Christmassy to me to put a tree up until beginning of December and I’m usually sick to the back teeth of it by New Year’s Eve but I keep the tree up until Nollaig Na mban, an Irish celebration on Jan 6th in honour of my mum, the Queen of Christmas.

We've taken our halloween decorations down this morning and dd is already asking when we can put the tree up 😂
I'm a massive fan of christmas it's my favourite time of year but I'll wait a few more weeks to put the tree up.
I compromised with dd and have put heart Xmas on for her

I've just walked past a house in my village with the Christmas tree up, lights on, twinkling away.

I think they just really really like Christmas. And the weather here is so gloomy and wet, it was lovely to see the lights on. Their house, their choice (I couldn't be doing with it up for two months, but I've got a much smaller house than they have).

Filipino maybe?

I will put mine up this weekend or next weekend at the latest, I love Christmas and I'll keep it up until the new year, it makes everything sparkly and cosy and makes us all happy
