I've bought dh some lovely & v well received presents over the past few years. Things like a decent telescope, pizza oven, coffee machine, musical instrument etc
This year we're going on a lovely trip between Christmas & new year so that's the main focus but I'd still love to get him something gorgeous just for him.
Any ideas? Budget up to £500

An Ortlieb cycle commuting backpack as he keeps using my climbing backpack when he stays here and it’s a pain switching all the stuff out.
Bottle of nice single malt.
Foldable bike lock.
Surly cycling t-shirt (using our one-in-one-out rule to get him to throw a tatty one out.
New cycling socks and sheepskin slippers - not easy to find as he’s a size 13/48.

AlwaysPrettyOnTheInside · 31/10/2023 07:22

Projector
Ipad case with keyboard
A better rolling pin than we currently have
A tankard because I broke his last one
Can't remember what else is on the list 😵‍💫

MayasJam · 31/10/2023 07:29

FooFighters tickets as main present. Also bought some photo frames and stalked his Facebook page to print some photos out for them. He’s decorating his flat and wants things to go on walls when it’s finished.

MissyB1 · 31/10/2023 07:33

Tickets to “Back to the future” musical.
Magic bullet food processor thing.
New work shirts.

AliasGrape · 31/10/2023 07:35

A watch case - he seems to have developed a bit of a thing about watches this year, has quite a few ( not like Rolex level but some nicer ones and others more everyday) and he mentioned a while ago he might get a display case for them but hasn’t as yet so figured it was a ready made present idea!

I’m going to get him a new hoodie and new slippers too as both are looking a bit tatty.

We do stockings and his will probably just be nuts/ chocolate/ socks.

Thats the plan unless another flash of inspiration hits in the meantime.

Last year was a soda stream which has been a big hit, he drinks masses of sparkling water.

MabelMoo23 · 31/10/2023 09:14

Some Ugg slippers plus also some crocs as he wears a cheap pair in the garden but we are all getting some to wear to Florida on holiday next year

ChocoChocoLatte · 31/10/2023 22:31

Ugg slippers

Hibernatalie · 01/11/2023 17:14

So far a jacket, a onesie, 2 x pairs of socks, 1 x pair of pants, 2 x t shirts, an ornament for his home office desk, a Cassio watch.

So incredibly boring but I'm stuck on what else to get him! Thinking aftershave, books...

He's into Warhammer but I wouldn't know what to get.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 01/11/2023 17:19

Tickets to see Bill Bailey
Posh moisturiser for men (he keeps nicking my Clarins)
Extra large socks for his extra large feet (probably just M and S)

Pinkkisugarmouse · 02/11/2023 15:54

He’s not easy to buy for but I have bought:

Private Eye annual 2023

Box set Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series

Will buy him a couple of shirts and maybe a nice jumper. Plus we each have a sleekster box from hotel chocolat 😋every Christmas (and Easter) so there’s that. He would be perfectly satisfied with this. He will also get something from his adult DD and my DD(21) if she remembers, her autism (and personality 😆) mean she is very disorganised. I might end up getting something from her and then her giving me the money.

Hibernatalie · 02/11/2023 17:45

If anyone has any inspiration to share I'd be very grateful- I need a main gift for DH. He has some smaller bits, but I want a main present for £50-£100.

Works from home and moving into new home office in January. Not a foodie but does like spice. Not much of a drinker but likes ale and red wine, sometimes a whiskey. Plays Warhammer and loves music (is a DJ). Reads a lot but has a kindle. Interested in science but can't think of anything specific. Not a fan of sport apart from snooker and table tennis (to play).

Last year's hit was Optimus Prime Lego set, previously has appreciated new trainers, chess set.

Thanks!

bananaboats · 02/11/2023 19:16

So far I've got his favourite aftershave, leather bracelet from Ted Baker and a craft beer set from a brewery he likes but probably going to get one more thing. His stocking will be chocs/shower gel/coffee pods.

soupmaker · 02/11/2023 19:23

Gig tickets, new pair of PJs to replace a threadbare pair, a book I know he'll love, fancy booze. We have more than enough stuff.

Isometimeswonder · 02/11/2023 19:44

Crikey, some of you have big budgets for your partner!
Mine is £100

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 04/11/2023 11:26

Budget is nowhere near £500 here. He wants some converse shoes so hopefully those, and probably some clothes. He's a cheap joggers and star wars tshirt kind of guy so not too pricey.

NeunundneunzigHorseBallonz · 04/11/2023 11:34

I bought some stainless steel rods that you keep in the freezer until you want a cold beer and you pop them in the bottle.

stayathomer · 04/11/2023 11:36

I'm getting dh a photo book of the kids. Also slippers as our dog keeps eating his. Um ... I think I need to have a bit of a think!

stayathomer · 04/11/2023 11:38

Hibernatalie what about a record player? Granted if he's a dj I could be totally off the bat with that idea!

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 04/11/2023 11:41

I'm stumped for mine, he's so hard to buy for! Contemplating a European mini break without the kids, as we loved doing that pre-parenthood, but it's impossible to surprise him with that, as he'd need to book the time off work. Confused

These sound ideal for my dh! Do you have a link?

Won’t these come shooting out of the bottle and in to his throat when he tips the bottle up?!

I’ve no idea however wonder if a coffee machine might be a good idea. I don’t drink coffee so no idea but they seem popular.

any recommendations on brand/type? Thanks

DH is getting a Sage Barista Touch as his 'main' present this year. Our previous bean to cup machine was a Delonghi and has lasted for years, but is finally getting a bit tired now. He'll also be getting a few clothing bits from DS and flying lesson vouchers.

DiaNaranja · 04/11/2023 12:36

A nice pair of sunglasses as we've got a big holiday booked for Easter, and he's never had a pair of sunglasses (always steals a pair of mine and then moans he looks ridiculous!) Apart from that, some vegan treats, and a new credit card holder thing as just noticed how tatty his is.

RedCoatSearch · 04/11/2023 12:46

@WYorkshireRose a couple of years ago I bought Dh the Sage bambino pro & it's a fantastic coffee machine which has been used multiple times a day every say since. I bought a relatively inexpensive bean grinder that year. The following year I bought him the sage coffee grinder. He honestly loves it & I benefit as he makes me gorgeous coffee every morning!
