Two nieces aged 16 & 19, can't afford to spend much but would like to get then something nice if anyone has any suggestions? Don't want to give vouchers & the older one doesn't drink alcohol but any others suggestions of ideas/poplular brands with this age group very welcome!

I get all my nieces and nephews a £20 Nandos card, always seems to go down well.

RedSoloCup · 25/10/2023 20:27

Mine love silver jewellery lots available in that budget on our local silver stall and on Amazon/ Etsy

Soccermumamir · 25/10/2023 20:29

What are they into? Make-up, music, gift card for the cinema? Books and chocolates, do they enjoy art? Loads you could get for under £20 🙂

PLouise Lips kits - they have an offer at the moment of 3 for £25 (so an extra present handy for someone else or one for you?)
My teenage niece absolutely loved this for her birthday.

Forgottenmyphone · 26/10/2023 06:46

Just bought this nail set for my gd

Do you have a link, please?

ToDoListAddict · 26/10/2023 07:09

@psuedocream3 sure - here's the link:

They're £22 each but if you add 3 it's £25 for all 3.

My 15 yo dd likes Nip and Fab. I generally check prices with other sites. Amazon has come up pretty reasonably. Otherwise if you are near a TK Max they have great bits for good prices. https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=nip+and+fab&i=beauty&crid=2PLLKBKS80BQJ&sprefix=Nip+an%2Cbeauty%2C240&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_2_

Or if they don’t wear falsies maybe heated eyelash curlers? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0C9T4SDVJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

How about nice soaps / bath bombs / scrubs / skin stuff? Lush can be expensive but I recently discovered wideye which is natural products and has some lovely bath bits, priced so you could get a few things each for what you want to spend.

Depends what they are into.
Books would have been my choice at that age.

Sprig1 · 26/10/2023 08:23

How about a nice water bottle?

sashh · 26/10/2023 08:29

I know you said no vouchers but if they live somewhere with a department store or a make up counter then booking a make over with a voucher to buy something makes a good gift.

You can often get theatre tickets for less known shows / smaller theatres for that price. A few years ago I got my niece tickets for 'Avenue Q' at her uni city theatre for a Wednesday matinee.

Do they have any hobbies?

I have been known to approach groups of teenage girls in shopping centres and ask for their help. I've had teenagers tell me which make up was best or pick a piece of jewelry, apparently, "not gold, no one wears gold".

LuckOfTheDrawer · 26/10/2023 08:32

Can anyone recommend some decent and colourful relatively cheap earphones? I don't want to buy from SHEIN / Temu / similar though. It turns out that teens get through earphones quickly!

Violetparis · 26/10/2023 08:34

Cosy 'Teddy' blanket from Dunelm.

DS1 (12) and I have these Bluetooth earbuds. He has them in black, and I have the rose gold. They also come in blue, purple, and white.

They're great quality. I bought mine to replace my original earbuds when they got damaged, and I prefer these ones, so I recommended them to DS when he was looking for a pair. He rates them, too.

Emmmmz9 · 26/10/2023 10:31

@ToDoListAddict thank you for the plouise lip kits - just ordered for my two teenage dd

Favouritefruits · 26/10/2023 14:34

Miniature perfumes? the Mochino bears are only £17 atm

Teen gifts for under £20
ToDoListAddict · 26/10/2023 17:33

@Kellioo @Emmmmz9 No problem 😊 hope your DDs love them 😊

reluctantbrit · 26/10/2023 18:54

Ask the parents for ideas/brands/preferred shops. Or do vouchers/money, teens can be difficult.

DD is 16 and I never buy make up, jewellery or clothes without her input. I do have a good idea what direction she likes but she is very peculiar and doesn't like any of the typical older teen brands you normally see everywhere recommended.

For her a Waterstone voucher would be one of the best gifts.

HappiDaze · 26/10/2023 18:58

My DD would probably prefer a £20 than a gift she's not bothered about

HappiDaze · 26/10/2023 19:00

I'll be honest there is no item that's been mentioned on here that my DD 16 would particularly want to be given which makes me think we never really know what they want so money is the more favourable option

Needmorelego · 26/10/2023 19:07

@HappiDaze out of curiosity....if your 16 year old is given money does she save it or spend it? If it's spend then what is she buying? Surely that's what you would suggest as a gift?
