Cheese - online

Can anyone recommend somewhere I can order a selection of cheese online for Christmas? I want really lovely cheese but might not get time to go to Borough Market this year like I normally do. Thanks!

Paxton and Whitfield.

I think the selection is better than Neal’s Yard and you get more choice in size of pieces.

Sprig1 · 15/10/2023 18:43

Another vote for Paxton and Whitfield.

I was looking at Pong, it's owned by Alex James from Blur isn't it. Have you tried it? @Defiantlynot41

Snowdonia Cheese Company. In advance, their Black Bomber can be bought in M&S to give you an indication of the quality.

@Hibernatalie i used to get the pong subscription box and it was always fab! Really rate their cheese selections

Defiantlynot41 · 15/10/2023 18:57

@Hibernatalie yes, it's lush. I love cheese but my DH cannot eat it so I don't buy often

PensionPuzzle · 15/10/2023 18:59

We've always found Pong very reliable and with an interesting variety, we've had no duds!

Hibernatalie · 15/10/2023 19:00

How exciting, thanks everyone!

Friend of mine who is a real gourmet uses The FIne CHeese company and his Christmas cheese boards are second to none.

OppsUpsSide · 15/10/2023 19:13

I ordered from the Fine Cheese Company for a gift for someone, went down well, I’ve tried to add a picture of what they got.

My problem with Pong is the cheeses are all individually wrapped pieces made for supermarkets (excluding whole cheeses like the tunworth etc).

They don’t come cut from big cheese wheels and wrapped in wax paper.

So it might be ok for a cheeseboard for yourself but makes a cheap looking gift. I personally don’t want mass produced cheese I want artisanal small batches.

Courtyard dairy every time for me

WolfFoxHare · 15/10/2023 21:20

There’s a place near Reading I use, the Pangbourne Cheese shop.

WolfFoxHare · 15/10/2023 21:22

Also the Mousetrap cheese shop in Ludlow.

Another vote for the Courtyard. Amazing range, super reliable, brilliant quality. Make sure to try the Hebden goat Gouda. Heaven!

Fen Farm Dairy cheese box is great. I get a subscription but sometimes add an extra truffle baron and definitely will for Christmas.

APurpleSquirrel · 15/10/2023 21:40

I hate cheese with a passion, but... my boss loves it & order her a Pong Cheese selection each Christmas. She has always said it's really good.

Courtyard dairy - awesome!
