I’m after any recommendations for a Christmas book with lovely illustrations and story? It’s for my mum as she loves the books but never buys them for herself, thank you so much for any recommendations☺️xx love this thread!

I loved the one by Jackie Morris. A Newborn Child
Looks pretty old school but gorgeous pictures and if you get it here she'll sign it. We have a few of her books and they're all magnificent.

@LemonFrosting
Both sets are on Facebook marketplace. If you can find anyone near those areas they might help?

Yes, search Creative Peak for the watercolour pens. I noticed a 24 pack is £5.99 too.

Thanks for the link to the pens to everyone that replied, I missed the original offer but but the 24 pack for 5.99. Still a really great price!

Someaddedsugar · 20/10/2023 08:01

@Qwerty21 it wasn't the 3in1 set - from memory it was one set that was an orange/yellow colour brick?

Someaddedsugar · 20/10/2023 08:04

I can check to see if they have the rollercoaster version this evening. I'll be heading there once DS is in bed so will keep an eye out @Qwerty21. I only glanced at the shelves that the monster trucks were on but I think there's a whole lego section in our Sainsburys toy aisle so will have a look there.

Burts Bees Hydration Station with 75% off - £6.99 on Amazon. Nice gift set.

BiteyBitingBiters · 20/10/2023 08:08

Quidco has an opt in offer of £10 bonus when spending over £50 at argos today only for first 8000 people. Typical i did a big order yesterday lol.

For anyone who plays football. https://gaintheedgeofficial.com/

Up to 80% off gain the edge but only 5 hours left. The grippy socks usually £30, 4 pairs for £22. Sock sleeves reduced too.

Thank you for this - perfect stocking fillers for the eldest

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 20/10/2023 08:27

@LemonFrosting
Google suggests you do need a Facebook page to use marketplace 🙁
Might be worth making a dummy account? Or seeing if any posters here live near these areas?

Elpheba · 20/10/2023 08:35

@mummydoris2006 please could you check your Aldi for the chicken nuggets and cuthbert cake? I have just been this morning and couldn’t get them in mine- did manage to get macaroons and the sweet shop so they’ll be over the moon with that but I did like the chicken nuggets and cuthbert! Would very happily pay postage if you did spot them. Thanks 😊

Xmasgifts · 20/10/2023 01:30

@Qwerty21 are we the same people lol. Both after bean bags, both done a wooden toy run and both wanting the train from Lidl 😂

What a shame you didn’t get the slide! Would be happy to post if there are any when I next go but I bet they will have gone, and the weight might not make it such a bargain!

I think someone else asked but does anyone know if people get there early for Lidl?

I think we must be 🤣 did you decide or narrow down options on a bean bag?
That's very nice of you but no doubt they'll be sold out. Thanks though

I'm not sure what one that is

PenguinIce · 20/10/2023 08:50

Turtle doves are doing a free pair of fingerless gloves with every order. Just got two pairs for £25.

That would be great please if you don't mind. I'm looking for it at the reduced price of £40 that another poster found them at , rather than the £63 it's at in argos

PurpleSkittle · 20/10/2023 09:08

@Flubadubba I posted an Argos code on here yesterday afternoon that someone had sent me that I didn't use.

Offer is still on this morning. They were obviously trying to make me panic order last night, and it worked! A great bargain anyway.

PantsToItAll · 20/10/2023 09:28

Thank you to everyone who replied te the fitness tracker for 10yr old. I’ll need to think about how often he’s use before deciding budget. He’ll also want to use with his bike as he cycles a lot so need to see which, if any, are compatible.

I’m feeling very nostalgic seeing all the Aldi and Lidl wooden toys being advertised. My youngest is just coming out of that phase (stuff we have gets played with occasionally but wouldn’t be worth buying new). It’s changed so much even in last few years. Much more variety (I really want the cuthbert cake!)

Lidl 20% off their toys coming in thur 26th via their app so don’t forget to activiate that coupon on your apps those who are going for the Lidl toys. We have the remote control train from years ago and it’s still going strong. I’d highly recommend.

Arewesureitisntbedtime · 20/10/2023 09:33

For anyone who is looking to order the Grip Socks I only bought one pair as not sure youngest will use them much. The code GAIN10 took off 10% and then after I had checked out, it offered me the chance to add on another pair of socks for £4.

Dreamingofwalden · 20/10/2023 09:38

@Restlessinthenorth @YourDiscoNeedsYou and anyone else? I'm not really into football but DS (7) is now playing for a team. I have looked at the socks and they look awesome but he always wears long socks when he is playing. Are you buying the short ones for matches or general play? Do they wear in combo with other socks. I am clueless!

WimbyAce · 20/10/2023 09:53

Anyone got a delivery code for Smiggle please? £4.99 seems so steep!

poostinkywink · 19/10/2023 19:41

Ok, blast from the past (thread one or two) where I was putting a 90s gift together for my sister…
Thanks to all the suggestions and I’ve done really well! I’m nearly complete but am still searching for a bottle of hooch and some raspberry ruffles. They used to sell ruffles in Poundland I’ve been in the one near me a few times and they have not got them 😱 I can see them on Amazon but they are pricey. Does anyone know where they sell ruffles at a not so inflated price (happy for the pack of 5 bars or the loose individual bite sized ruffles) and where on Earth I find a bottle of hooch (I tried home bargains and b and m but no joy).

Will await responses in my new White Stuff turtle socks from the advent calendar glitch 😁💪

They had hooch in my Sainsbury’s this week, but it was cans not bottles (I remember because I commented to my wife about it!)

Intheheights02 · 20/10/2023 09:55

Do you have a link please

Gladysrocker · 20/10/2023 10:25

poostinkywink · 19/10/2023 21:55

WhatICallMyUsername Thats very kind of you. I’m just keeping the cost down really though. They do sell them on amazon but with an inflation - so I can get them but just seeing if I can find them for normal prices in a shop somewhere first before I fork out on the small increase. Apart from wanting them for my Xmas gift, I do love them myself and got a bit twitchy when I realised my Poundland didn’t have them anymore, so I have to find a regular local stockist 😬 Thank you so much for your kind offer though ❤️

Do you have a Boyes store near you? They usually have them.

ShangPie · 20/10/2023 10:55

@BiteyBitingBiters thanks for the Quidco Argos bonus tip! Much appreciated 🙏🏻
