Anyone have any activity tracker suggestions for a 10yr old? The got to use grandparents Fitbit on holiday recently and loved it (and made walks less moany!!) They do not have their own phone and won’t for at least a year although I wouldn’t object to any activity watch being able to make limited calls or texts (unsure if this is more a feature for younger kids smart watches though and we’d need something “not babyish”). Obviously a bargain is preferable (Black Friday?) TIA

Can anyone recommend christmas bath bombs please?? I've seen the ones in lush and they're quite expensive for a 5 and 3 year old!!

I've been buying the shower bombs from Lush as they're much cheaper and work much the same.

There are often deals on Amazon though - I always find bargains on here nearer the time.

Passthecoffee · 19/10/2023 09:00

@FizzyOranges it was in my emails and expiry date is 8th November so it must be account specific which is annoying. Sorry.

FizzyOranges · 19/10/2023 09:02

Thanks for trying!

I'm going to hold off buying the electric blanket I really want for a few weeks and see if I get an offer! :)

Nestnearlyempty · 19/10/2023 09:05

Bomb cosmetics do nice bath bombs and you can buy on Amazon - you could buy a set and split

The 3 piece Burts bees set is back at £7.50

This one is an absolute bargain as the body lotion and hand cream are both full size!

Smileatthesmallthings · 19/10/2023 09:17

@PantsToItAll I'm looking at a Fitbit Ace 3 for my nearly 7yo. It can't do calls or texts but looks like any other Fitbit.

Last year I got a percy pig bath bomb from marks and Spencer. Thunk it was £2.50ish. I put it in a christmas eve box with percy pig popcorn and and percy chocolate coins.

Fossil have an extra 30% off outlet again, lots of bargains on there

stepfordwifey · 19/10/2023 09:20

Got to Aldi on opening. No sign of the chicken nuggets but managed to get the coffee set and macarons. Plenty of grandparents looking very pleased with their haul! Such lovely stuff and it does get played with.

Roserunner · 19/10/2023 09:28

Boden code for anyone that want it.

This burts bees lip balm multipack can be purchased for £6.30. You need to select subscription and tick the 20% off voucher. You'll need to cancel the subscription once it arrives. I'm going to split the pack to add to other gifts

On the heated throw front, I took the plunge with a Mia & Coco from Amazon at 57% off for £38.39 (for me as am always cold but I would recommend for a present.) The 120cm x 160cm in grey - feels really generous size! it arrived yesterday and is total gamechanger. Decent reviews and I hope it will last.

Deal: Mia&Coco Electric Heated Blanket Throw Flannel Sherpa Fast Heating 120x160cm, 10 Heat Levels & Up-to-9-Hours Auto-Off Timer & LED Display, for Home Office Use, Machine Washable, ETL Certified, Grey amzn.eu/d/7xn2sn4

Ewock · 19/10/2023 09:41

Sorry on amazon. They also had a different pack with different flavours.

MangoAF · 19/10/2023 09:47

@friskybivalves is it really really soft and thick to touch or can you feel the wires?

Mentaldays · 19/10/2023 09:47

@Georgieporgie29 white fox have recently changed delivery, they now have a UK website and delivery is £6 🫣 but orders are now arriving much faster. Our order arrived in 8 days roughly, they took a couple of days to dispatch so less than a week in transit from Australia. I have an order to be delivered and it’s taken over a week so far.
My daughter never asks for clothes so I decided just to go for it and order, she has worn it constantly.

SnowJamz · 19/10/2023 09:51

My local Aldi was packed this morning with people wanting the wooden toys. I got the coffee machine set, doughnuts and cupcakes as presents.

Mentaldays · 19/10/2023 09:53

@Georgieporgie29 I meant to say colour wise the light grey with green ( glacier grey) is popular, but my dd didn’t want that. She went for Ocean, as blue is her colour. Moon is nice too and I have that coming for Chlristmas, it’s a pale beige/grey. I think they are all very trendy.

PopcornAndGummyBears · 19/10/2023 09:56

@PantsToItAll how much are you looking to spend? That age is tricky - you definitely don’t want anything babyish, and you want it to last, esp as they go off to secondary next year. (I’m presuming anyway, based on their age)

We are a Garmin family (with the exception of DH who refuses to give up his Apple WatchHmm) as they are significantly better than fitbits for actual exercise - particularly running.

Our DTs got forerunner 45s watches last Christmas when they were 12 and they are great. There is nothing babyish about them, and they function as very decent watches - not just fitness trackers, but they are also great for tracking activity - they both do cross country at school, and athletics in summer, so they have been great for that. They also look a hell of a lot nicer than most Fitbits.

They aren’t cheap though, so it really depends on how much you want to spend. A decent watch is an investment so we were prepared to spend a little more, and got them for £99 each. They are currently showing as £129 but the camels show them as coming down to the £100 mark fairly regularly.

If you do decide to go for it, just make sure you choose the S model - this is a smaller watch face and the perfect size for a child/young teen.

Sainsburys sale seems to be reducing further Dow whatever is still in stock so it might be worth checking your local store - I got a Lego space rollercoaster today that was rrp £95, had been on sale at £64 (and still is in Argos and Amazon) reduced to £45 which I was happy with for a December bday. It's this one in Argos tho it's not as cheap there www.argos.co.uk/product/3117062?clickSR=slp:term:lego%2031142:1:572:1

They also had this hot wheels set reduced from £70 to £25 which is £10 cheaper than Amazon - Hot Wheels Track Set and Toy Car, Large-Scale Motorized Track with 3 Corkscrew Loops, 3 Crash Zones and Toy Storage, FTB65 amzn.eu/d/06Ii6kN
I guess it varies by what they have left in individual stores but worth a look I'd say

I just checked mine and they didn't have the Lego and they rang the next town over who didn't have it either. Such a shame as that's a great price

DamitJamit · 19/10/2023 10:08

@FizzyOranges I have a 20% off lakeland voucher for a £50 spend and a 20% off lakeland heated throws that should stack that your welcome to try? Although it might be account specific too I'm not sure

Edit to say it specifies it works on items 63781, 63769 and 63719 only

DamitJamit · 19/10/2023 10:09

Also I have a 20% of selected christmas hampers if anyone wants it

Boots have 20% off thousands of beauty and fragrance products including the Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Jet Set at £22.40. Reduced from £28.

psuedocream3 · 19/10/2023 10:29

I know sol de janeiro is very popular this year for teens... is there a specific set they are all asking for?
