Thanks for the WHSmiths information, I got 6 nice hardback kids books delivered for £30. Didn’t trigger the 20% off but it was 15% of a smaller spend.

CinnamonCoffee · 16/10/2023 19:44

@Smileatthesmallthings amazing thank you

Callmesleepy · 16/10/2023 19:49

@ArthurChristmas22 what about an Aldi special buy paw patrol busy station? My 3 year old would love one of those! https://www.aldi.co.uk/paw-patrol-creation-station/p/729598756007601

@jamrolypolyandcustard that was me re the monster truck, thanks! It was £45 when I went to Sainsbury's last week but I might have to have another visit cos that's a great price

Same here, I saw it and had to guide DS out the way as he doesn't know he's getting it.

I wouldn't have paid £70 for it, though we've had the grave digger in the past and they're great (not a very long battery life) but very good at being battered and bashed Grin

Lastminutebride · 16/10/2023 20:15

Any ideas on a reasonably priced oodie? My daughter would like one like mine but not sure I want to pay for a genuine one which she’ll outgrow!

CanIPutTheTreeUpYet · 16/10/2023 20:28

@Lastminutebride I've got a couple from this eBay seller. I got the otter one to gift someone and it feels exactly like my own, heavy and very good quality. Pretty sure I can see the Oodie logo on the tag though it's been cut through. Have the Panda one en route so hoping that's genuine too. There seems to be a few good priced ones on eBay. I'm happy to update the quality of the Panda one when it gets here if you want.

Is there a good way of getting gift cards for cafes like Costa and Starbucks, or even Greggs?

How old is she because I got the normal full sized ones for my kids when they were 8. They were big to begin with but they only use them when lounging around and they loved them from day one.

I agree, I feel even half price is still a bit steep for a remote control car for kids, so if I can get it a bit below half it lessens the blow a bit! Just hope my shop has the same discount 🤞🏻

She’s 6. She’s put mine on and it absolutely swamps her!

I only know of getting digital ones:

Use JamDoughnut (I have a referral code for bonus in the referrals thread, but you may know someone with one too) to get cashback on buying a digital card. Costa and Nero are 8% cheaper. You can build up your balance easily by buying and using gift cards for your grocery shopping, because you need £10 to transfer back to bank.

Or use Cheddar - currently 7% back, but you can only claim it once you've reached overall £5 on your balance.

Sometimes Tesco do offers on them, but it's waiting to see 'if' rather than when.

My 6 year old has got a Stitch one from primark (Stitch is in vogue around here). It’s reversible and lovely.

Ahh thanks. I think she’d love stitch. I’ll have a look at primark

Soscrewed · 16/10/2023 21:31

@hby9628 thank you so much! I apparently won £10 too and I'd never have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out.

If you have a Sainsbury's delivery pass- the Christmas slots opened today for booking (dull I know, but Christmas related!)

Soscrewed · 16/10/2023 21:39

I wonder if this little lego Dobby is a bit unpopular as it is gradually dropping in price. Started seeing it around £20 and last week it was £17.99. Its now £16.50.

If it gets any lower I'll end up buying it Dobby

hby9628 · 16/10/2023 21:42

@Soscrewed no problem re M&S. nice little treat bonus money!

I got my DD the Dobby at £18 for her birthday last week. It's really cute. I think it's down to £16.50 to price match the current price in Sainsbury's. I spotted it in there towards the end of last week.

StrictlyComeback · 16/10/2023 21:43

That Dobby is the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen, which I suppose is the point but still.

I just remembered this and booked 21st as I have a midweek pass. Plus I ordered a slot for 23rd and one for 24th (we may be moving house, so I've booked to both addresses and will cancel one when I know!).

Slater22 · 16/10/2023 22:30

Thanks for the bargains so far 😊
Random question can anyone recommend black fluffy socks that don’t shed all over the 🤬 carpet please?!

ArthurChristmas22 · 16/10/2023 22:57

Thank you for the Paw Patrol suggestions. I've ordered the book and will now stalk my local Aldi 🤣

I was in the Leeds Primark today, seriously ‘oodies’ as far as the eye could see 😂 kids and adult sizes and I think the most expensive one was about £14. They seemed quite nice quality too.

Bethebest · 17/10/2023 06:16
