Stocking ideas for a tween boy

Restlessinthenorth · 01/10/2023 14:20

My teenage daughters stocking is soooo easy. I am however really stuck for my 12 year old boy. He's quite grown up, loves football, likes fashion (unfortunately for me, nothing cheap!). Beyond some sprays etc, what the hell can I put in it? I've always loved doing stocking and come up with good ideas, but really struggling. All ideas welcome!

How about playing cards, magnetic chess set, cds if not obsolete in your house my son buys them from charity shops for using in the car and we would buy them off ebay etc ones he would like) , chocolate of course, favourite sweets, something relating to an interest like guitar plectrums, something of his football team e.g. a mug, a winter hat/gloves.
I asked my teenage son and he said chocolate and sweets - when I said I have put those he said- "more chocolate and sweets!"

Depending on the size of the stocking... roll up a t-shirt?

Get fake football kits from DHgate. Great quality for about £15.

Funko pops

Tickets to something he will enjoy. You can usually get England tickets at Wembley ok. A couple of years ago the ones we both came in a Christmas card from Gareth Southgate 😂

Hi there, some ideas for things that will fit in a stocking but not sure what your budget is for fillers…

  • Phone case if he has a phone
  • Glow in the dark torch (Amazon)
  • Football stars Top Trumps (Amazon)
  • Hacky Sack (Keepy Uppy foot sack - Amazon)
  • Magnetic pen that has multiple uses including stylus, compass, fidget shape builder… it’s drop resistant as well.

Love that magnetic pen, thanks @whimsical1975

stayathomer · 01/10/2023 17:34

Don’t hate me for this but rubix cube, fidget spinner (thought my kids were beyond both then last year they got them from an aunt and still mess with both!), fingerless gloves

CanIPutTheTreeUpYet · 01/10/2023 18:23

Greggs voucher if you're close to one? Mine used to get something on the way back from school/when out with their friends.

Also, he went in to town and got a squidgy stresstoy sausage dog thing from a cheap shop, possibly Poundland or similar, it seems to be made with flour like substance inside so is nice to squish but it's also sticky, so he likes to launch it at the ceiling and waits for it to fall back down. Luckily for him, it doesn't leave a greasy residue! He's 14 but still loves his weird stuff!
Any spare change goes on HotWheels too.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 01/10/2023 19:24

@whimsical1975, would you mind linking to the magnetic pen please?

whimsical1975 · 01/10/2023 20:30

@CoffeeChocolateWine here’s the link… just look though because you can get multicoloured, black, blue etc - there are other Amazon sellers selling them…

Space hooper
ours loved them that much they went to the pub on them on Christmas Day they were 16 and 18

Neodymium · 01/10/2023 21:38

Can anyone think of something ‘special’ for teen boys?

we are going to Europe for Xmas day so I need something small that I can buy and pack. The holiday is the gift I just need 1 thing to wrap up for them to open from Santa. (my daughter still believes)

problem is, Xmas is at the end of the trip so I can’t give them stuff to use for the trip. I don’t want to just give them experiences because that’s the holiday.

i have got my daughter a pandora bracelet. Looking for something equally sized for tween/teen boys. Can’t be knife/liquid ect cause travelling with hand luggage only.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 01/10/2023 23:02

Thanks @whimsical1975 😊

Invisimamma · 01/10/2023 23:07

Some great ideas here! I always go with classic pants, socks, chocolate, gift card, toiletries.

whimsical1975 · 02/10/2023 05:23

@Neodymium what is your budget for each boy and what are their interests?
