Stocking filler list for older teens

Anotherloverholeinyohead · 08/07/2023 22:25

Hello everyone
I'm trying to compile a stocking filler list fir my boy teens 16 and 19. I'm trying to give useful things and maybe a better brand that they would normally buy.

So far I have

Pringles
Pants
Socks
Body sprays

Any other suggestions? The stockings are pillow case size 🙄 they would not enjoy mini games or sport related items

Mine two Ds's 15+18 last year loved the bags of microwave popcorn, different hot chocolate sachets and the couple of cans of energy drinks ( I normally don't allow them in the house)

Lush products

WheresTheRemoteControl · 22/08/2023 22:52

Following.
I struggle with this for 18yr old ds

Things like
Pringles
Noodles
Condiments etc
Wouldn't go down well as we always have stuff like that indoors.

Doesn't have a computer for things like the keyboard slime or hoover.

Deodorants etc is an everyday item, and tbh he generally ends up with God knows how many lynx /dove/TB type sets.
He already drinks far too many energy drinks daily (i cant stop him and have expressed concerns)

Will get scratch cards

Possible a power bank although im sure he recently purchased one will check

Will look at japanese sweets for sure.

leesmum · 23/08/2023 09:16

So many good ideas on here!

Keeping lots of the ideas for boys in my head for when toddler DS is older - however my stepdaughter is an older teen now and previous hits have been:

Airpod cleaner (mentioned previously I think)
Eyebrow/facial razors (TKMaxx good for these)
Hair turbans
Chopsticks/ceramic soup spoon/noodles
Unusual sweets/chocs (again TKMaxx or local small shops - Chinese/Japanese/South African etc)
Coffee syrups
Portable/battery powered milk frother
Toothbrush/toothpaste case for when staying at friends
Travel jewellery case

Just remembered what was a hit last year. A change sorter that sorts coins into same set eg all 20p pieces together etc.

DelilahBucket · 26/08/2023 22:37

Snacks and drinks from americanfizz.co.uk went down well last year. They have a clearance section too.
Naive underwear.
Costa/Starbucks voucher
Latte mixes to make at home.

R4ID · 26/08/2023 22:39

Chocolates
Fudge
Pick & Mix
Socks
Underpants
Elemis shaving gel
Molton Brown shower gel
Miniature spirits
Beers
Phone case
Trainer cleaning kit
Nice travel wash bag
Books/Magazines/Annuals specific to their interests
Sports team related - mugs, bottle opener, lego, mini football, coasters, mouse mat, collectors items etc

Personally would hate to receive anything boring and useful that I could buy myself

OMGitsnotgood · 27/08/2023 15:52

We never have sugary/chocolate cereal, but when we went on self catering holidays, the DC were allowed a variety pack each, when they were gone they were gone and back to the heathy stuff. They were reminiscing about this one year and I put them a pack each in their stockings and they loved it!! Filling too if you have a large stocking/pillowcase

VittysCardigan · 27/08/2023 16:27

Last year my DS15 was eating loads of spaghetti so i bought him a tool that measures how much to use per person. Obviously his food fad has now changed. I find it handy though.

ArthurChristmas22 · 27/08/2023 16:30

This thread is fantastic and will definitely sort my stockings. My daughter will be off to Uni next year so I'm also thinking of theming her sticking around things cute but useful for Uni! If anyone has similar age kids and has any ideas I'd be really welcome for ideas.

So far, I have a mini sewing kit, a first aid kit, I'm trying to find some sort of miniature spice kit so she can take a small amount of lots of spices (she likes to cook), cute cooking utensils -all useful and necessary buys but I'll buy 'nicer' versions than I would do if it was in the massive Uni shop!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 27/08/2023 16:47

A blackhead removal kit went down well here last year!

i’m looking at the Chilly camping cutlery sets too for my camping mad son!

I definitely go for less but better quality stuff these days, I’m quite embarrassed at the amount of tat that I used to get just to fill the space.

Oblomov23 · 27/08/2023 17:07

I got a mini spice kit for my Ds from Tkmaxx. They had loads!
