She's 10 so feel like she should be too old to be crazy excited but she woke up at 4.30 and can't go back to sleep 😩
she's on her tablet in bed and I've told her we can't wake DH until 6am. It's going to be a long day!!

2.45 here, with excited whispers of “He’s been!”
Id only got to bed at 1, so we opened presents then went back to bed 4-8. DC are 9, 10, 15 and 17 (the little 2 woke the teens, who were more than happy to get up!)

5.10am here, although my 7 year old said she woke up at 4.20am and waited a while to see if she could go back to sleep but she was too excited and said her tummy was fizzing!

I could never be mad at a child waking up early on Christmas Day through sheer excitement! It’s one day, if we’re all tired then we’ll nap later on or power through until bedtime.

All were asleep here until DD(9) had decided to set an alarm for 06:30am! 🙄

I'm not much better though, I think I saw every hour on the clock last night!

It was always a bonus if we got 6am without anyone waking up. I remember one year my 11yo being the excited one (usually second my child) and waking her two younger siblings and older brother to open stockings together about 5am.

I've also been woken by same child with a torch to 'see if I was awake'.

This year I woke naturally around 9am and we all got up about 9.30 which is still early for my teens. Second child is now 22 but think she was still up earlier than me as kettle was hot. She just didn't involve the rest of us now! Do miss the early hour rustling and whispers.

power through until bedtime.

This is what we did, DD made it through on Fanta, Heroes & playing with her new toys 😁 luckily it was a quiet Christmas (3 adults & DD) so it wasn't overwhelming for her at any point.

My 13yo and 10yo went to sleep around 10pm. My 11yo was still awake at 1am.

I went to sleep at 4am and woke up at 6am. But I never sleep well on xmas eve, I've even resorted to sleeping tablets in the past and not had them work.

This year we told 10yo DD that 7.30am was the earliest she was allowed to get up, expecting her to barely be able to contain herself till then. In actual fact at 8.30am i was getting the kids all up.

My mum was sleeping in the lounge, otherwise I'd have gotten up and drank tea in peace. Weirdly my Mum loves sleeping on my sofa, says it's more comfortable than any bed she's ever had and she gets her best nights sleeps on my sofa. And since she's been unwell I didnt want to wake her.

DH and I woke around 8.30am today and chased the kids out of bed at 10am as we had guests due.

DDs are 3 and 4 and both fell asleep after 10 🤦‍♀️ but didn't wake up until 9am 😍 it was honestly a Christmas miracle 😂😂

Dd10 woke up at 5.30 and went on her tablet
came into me at 6.40
heard her talking to DP as he went off to work at 6.30, took pity on her 😂
