Got everything except sprouts and a turkey!

The sprouts in Tesco were dated today and the smallest turkey was huge. Went to Sainsbury’s and couldn’t park so I will try Morrison’s later. Plan b is turkey slices from a packet even though teenage dc has already requested chicken instead of turkey anyway. Fortunately only cooking for me and the dc this year!

How’s your food shopping going and have you managed to get everything?

Morrisons very quiet compared to Tesco for some reason.

Our local Supermarket is a Morrisons and it's been really quiet all week! So weird. We've ended up going in there loads as it's been so easy shopping there!

Just back from Co-op. Had awful looking fresh (labelled DEFROSTED) turkey crowns with purple slimy bruising for sale, use by 25 Dec for £20, or fresh-fresh whole chickens, use by 30 Dec for £5.

I bought the chicken.

We were planning to go to my brother's house for Christmas and bring the sides, then DH caught covid, so now we're staying home but didn't have a meat course. I masked up and went to ShopRite where I lucked out and found a small Boars Head apple wood smoked ham, so that's sorted.

Got virtually everything in a heaving M&S today, slightly bigger turkey than I wanted, but none of it will be wasted. Got the gammon in Waitrose last week. Of course there are a couple of things I forgot, as usual, but will nip to little Sainsbury’s tomorrow. 🎄🎅

After reading many such posts,I had a lightbulb moment. Someone rightly said that booking a slot well in advance is not a guarantee of stock availability. The stock.comes from the supermarket and not some storage facility set aside for online orders. I bet there are quite a few people who think, that's me sorted as they have submitted their Christmas online order. I have heard people IRL complain about substitutions or stock.availability. hope you get sorted

Went to M and S myself at 6am. Onli needed some treats as I'm.catering for 1 but not a Christmas dinner. Was heaving. Little space to move and people respecting personal.space. after about 10m.i.took refuge in household section to wait for the crowds to dissipate. Hardly any Free Frim.stuff😫
