So upset! I bought an item off Amazon yesterday it said it would be delivered Friday, it never once mentioned it was being sent by Royal Mail so of course it was delivered TODAY by rm!! And I missed it, now the sorting office is closed so now I won’t have my daughters present for tomorrow as they are striking 😢 it said it was going to be delivered tomorrow by amazon I paid a lot of money for this item.

surely you can pick it up on saturday? or are they striking then too?

Worth a trip to the sorting office. Ours say next day but I’ve been recently same days and it was there. How old is she? Could you do something daft with an IOU in a box with loads of glitter and streamers and really messy stuff she can have fun with and feel magical about. Or if she’s older and doesn’t believe in Santa just explain to her, she will be excited for the real thing when she can finally get it.

I'd just get it from the sorting office when you can and explain what's happened to your DD. If she's very young, she won't notice, otherwise, she's old enough to understand that sometimes we get tripped up by circumstances outside our control.

No need to get upset about it, these things happen and with so many strikes at a busy time of year, it's been a challenge keeping up with deliveries, so easy to miss them.

I’d go to the sorting office today and just try it. Later on in the day so that it will have had time to be redelivered and sorted. I’ve done that before and they've had it. If not, is it open Saturday?

Thank you all I just got back I ran down there and they said they are pretty certain it will be back by 4PM!! Feel so relieved 🥲 she even said she would make a note for the next person as she wouldn’t be in when I come back. So fingers crossed for them 🤞

My friend messaged me yesterday to say he'd pordered my DS's present late because he'd been ill and had sent it straight to us but it wouldn't be here in time for Christmas, but it came via DPD today.

Evri are becomeing awful. DH bought 2 presents, one three or four weeks ago, one a couple of weeks ago. Neither have arrived, thanks to Evri. Evri 'can't find' either of them.
I dont; know what they are, but they were supposed to be for me for Christmas, and I like a lot of 2nd hand things, some of which are very had to find.Evri just saying 'get the seller to send anther one' doesn't work.

Second-hand goods are not always available. I waited several years for one second-hand item to come up on ebay. The question was not a fair one, it was a snarky one. And so was your comment- the OP could have used a Christmas bonus to buy it for all you know- or have prudently waited to see if she could afford to buy it on top of paying bills due this month.

Maybe OP got paid a couple of days ago? I work in a school and we got our wages on the 20th (last day of term) because the office is going to be closed on the day we usually get it.

I had the same thing. I really wish Amazon would say which carrier they are using if not the usual amazing drivers.

I purposely never buy anything delivered by RM because they have always been really crap in my area.

Delivery depends on area, we live in an East Midlands town and some amazon parcels get delivered by Royal Mail and some by Amazon couriers, it’s fairly standard and the contract changes often re delivery, my husband works for Royal Mail.

I think Royal Mail are on strike tomorrow and Christmas Eve.
