Mini smarties in boxes

I am trying to track down the fun size smarties that come in little boxes. I like to wrap them like tiny presents to hang on the tree. Has anyone seen them this year? I have a Waitrose and Morrisons nearby, but can pop to asda, Tesco or Sainsbury's.
Or maybe somewhere else? Iceland?
Thank you Smile

They're difficult to come by! The last lot I got was in a variety pack in a Dealz in Ireland last year. I’ve not seen any in the UK for so long.

Thank you. Are there any other sweets or chocolates that come in small square or rectangular boxes?

There's those little packs of Maoms but it's not quite the same as the smarties. Lovely idea by the way!

AlwaysLatte · 14/12/2022 15:25

Or poppets? Too big?

Thingsthatgo · 14/12/2022 15:27

Ooh! Poppets might work... I'll see if I can get some of those. Thank you.

Raisins maybe? We used to use matchboxes when I was little.

Libre55 · 14/12/2022 17:15

Kinder eggs?

EmilyGilmoresSass · 14/12/2022 17:20

What about the little 'candy sticks' that many of us used to pretend were cigarettes many moons ago 🤣

Thingsthatgo · 14/12/2022 20:27

@EmilyGilmoresSass candy sticks would work! I think there would be a rebellion if I used raisins Grin

Ahhh this takes me back.

Yesthatismychildsigh · 14/12/2022 20:32

Pez?

Sunshineandrainbow · 14/12/2022 20:33

Could you get the raisin boxes and fill with smarties for a surprise!

Moro93 · 14/12/2022 20:35

You can get little boxes of Skittles as well.

00100001 · 14/12/2022 20:36

Quite pricey at £2.50 + P&P

00100001 · 14/12/2022 20:36

Your best bet is to go to the European supermarkets I think. They have all sorts of stuff that might be worth swapping the smarties for :)

Thingsthatgo · 14/12/2022 21:08

@00100001 that's a good plan! I might find all kinds of sweets in boxes in the international food shops! Thank you.
Thank you for the link too... the postage is making me hesitate, but thank you for looking.

Might be a nice way to try lots of different/unusual sweets.

If not, could you make some boxes from a cereal box perhaps? If they just need to be wrapped you could just cut along rectangle and fold into a box shape (minus edges) and stuff some sweeties in them? So like a squared tube, iyswim?

onepieceoflollipop · 14/12/2022 21:29

Tic tacs

Snoopsnoggysnog · 14/12/2022 21:32

i Wonder why they don’t sell the boxes of Smarties any more!

BrutusMcDogface · 14/12/2022 21:32

My mum used to wrap earrings in little boxes and hang them on the tree for me ❤️

I love the smarties idea though! I wonder if shops like B&M, farmfoods etc might have them?

Cost.

They come in bags now

Snoopsnoggysnog · 14/12/2022 21:43

So you can still get fun size but they’re in bags? Used to love shaking those boxes to see how many were left. Childhood memories!

DorothyCannoli · 14/12/2022 22:09

How about wrapping some tiny gift boxes, like jewellery boxes and putting one individually wrapped chocolate inside. You could reuse the boxes each year too.

Rocketpants50 · 14/12/2022 22:13

I to have looked everywhere for mini smarties without luck. It was to put in partybags. Is weird, where have they gone?
