I have warm white in living room and bedroom multi colours.
Think the multi colours are much more festive

We used to have multi coloured when I was younger, then for some reason my parents decided white was classier. Since moving out and getting my own tree I've rebelled and gone back to the ones I loved so much when I was little!

I bought multi coloured ones this year and I love them.

Warm white here too, no baubles yet as I'm in the middle of dressing the tree right now 🎄😁

Loving seeing the pics of other people's trees - they all look gorgeous 😍

Old fashioned mult color on the main tree.
Lilac on a small white tabletop tree in my bedroom.

I like the ones that have pink, orange, red, green, blue. I've got them round my bay window. They remind me of what we had on our tree in the 70s/80s

Warm white on the tree, and the same outside. I much prefer the calming, peaceful feel of them compared to coloured lights. Trees of my childhood/growing up at home (Denmark) had real candles, so coloured lights aren’t nostalgic for me. I’d have candles now but DH isn’t keen.

Have you seen the Gregg Wallace Christmas market series on TV? Part of it is about how a Danish Christmas is celebrated. Nice programme. There was a bit where they were sitting by a fireplace that had white decorations and lights. I noticed it as it's different from what's popular here. Sandi toksvig is my favourite Danish person by the way. I went to see her when she was doing the National Trevor tour. Really loved the show

I remember they said that in the Christmas episodes of Downton Abbey they used white lights on the tree as people would expect that, but they actually would have had coloured lights at that time.

I think white lights became popular here is the 90s but it's swung back again

Jojoanna · 14/12/2022 12:19

Multi coloured ! Although my adult children prefer warm white

TheChosenTwo · 14/12/2022 12:28

Multicoloured! I have the best memories of my christmases with grandparents with their colourful tree, it feels so nostalgic. I now have so much colour on my tree and it makes me so happy. I know some people think it’s a bit naff but other peoples opinion of my Christmas tree lights are no concern of mine 😂

Is it just me that find modern LED coloured lights disappointing?

I always think the colours are
a) washed out
and
b) not balanced well enough so that the blue/green stands out far more than the red/orange ones?

I think that if I could find a set that was more in line with the colours you used to get on the old filament lights, I'd like them better.

Theoldwoman · 14/12/2022 12:39

Warm white here too (only decorations I have is one Christmas tree, I am a minimalist) they match my brown and gold baubles nicely .

Alexaplaysomething · 14/12/2022 12:50

Warm white and red inside.

Multicoloured outside because my DD wanted colours outdide. Secretly it's to wind the neighbour up, because I know she will hate it and has to look at it every day, where I get to see her warm-white ?matchy-matchy modern insta attempt from my windows. I have those snow lights pointed at an angle so one of them shines a little on her house, I can feel the rage when they go on and my light dares to touch her house 🤭

psuedocream3 · 14/12/2022 13:00

Multicolour as I think it looks more magical for the kids and remind me of childhood Christmas' past. I prefer warm lights generally myself though
