Luxury biscuits

My DP is a biscuit fan, big time. Loves a shortbread, even a bourbon. I've got most of his Christmas presents sorted but I'd like to get him some really special biscuits. Can anyone recommend somewhere that does really good biscuits? I'm more of a crisp kinda woman so biscuits are not my forte!

I also agree with the F&M ones. In the tall tins. Beautiful.

M&S do some wonderful biscuits. Even their boxes of cookies are delicious and far apart from other shops. Belgian curls they do, nice florentines. Lots of normal biscuits or slightly luxurious ones but done REALLY well.

Am trying to get to an M&S before Xmas for the same reason.

plus their cheese biscuits are amazing. Great slightly warmed.

@farnworth thanks for this suggestion. I think I’ve got a couple gifts sorted now.

How luxury would you go? I’ve just ordered some of these alfajores after reading about them in the Notes on Chocolate column in the Guardian: surchocolates.co.uk

They’re £4 a pop so ones to savour!

That was my reaction to the £4 ea but there are shops in London where an individual doughnut is £4.80 and given the difference in how delectable those alfajores look, they've become a relative bargain. To be eaten and savoured for every crumb. Xmas Smile

I bought 2 of these last night for my neighbours and thought they were lovely for the price with a good selection Smile

My reasoning entirely @RethinkingLife !

I came on to say the chocolosus biscuits from F&M!! DH has bought me a tin every year for years, and so look forward to them every time!

I find the tall F&M tins a pain in the neck because they won't fit in the regular cupboards although the biscuits are nice.
I ended up binning the tins & just putting them in the regular biscuit tin because they were always in the way.

We LOVE the Earl Grey tea biscuits, which come in a much easier to store tin & are beautifully shaped like little leaves.
They also do Macha Green Tea, Christmas Tea, Victoria Grey Tea & Fortmason Tea versions, but we like the Earl Grey best.

You don't get many in the tin though.

F&M now do refill packs for the [X]lossus biscuits. They're only £4 cheaper than the tin version but if your family like the biscuits and you're happy to keep them in a regular tin then that might work?

FlamingJingleBells · 11/12/2022 18:36

I use the F&M tins to store dried spaghetti & linguine pasta.

The F and m Chocolossus are REALLY good

They are about £20 a tube though!

I've just gone down the biscuit rabbit hole. I was after another gift for my Dad, who is a massive tea drinker. A biscuit would go nicely......

Fortnum & Mason

I have no idea why posts cut off sometimes when you reply. I was going to suggest Fortnum & Mason. I bought someone some Earl Grey shortbreads in a pretty tin for Christmas.
