I'd like to buy a really nice box of chocs for us to have in for Christmas. Something a bit special and very tasty. Any ideas folks? Budget not important.

@notyourmam
Those look like miniature works of art.
Have now sorted another present off my list. Thanks!

Harry Spectres. Started by the mum of a young man with autism. Not only are they award winning bloody lovely chocolates but 69p out of every £1 spent goes to support young people with autism through employment, training and work experience.

Thank you all so much for your suggestions. I've bought a box from the Highland Chocolatier and a box from Leonidas. Looking forward to digging in!

Charbonnel and walker if you are looking for a commercial company, otherwise it’s artisanal, handmade and eye wateringly expensive, in which case I buy a little box of half a dozen and don’t share!

kingtamponthefurred · 06/12/2022 17:55

Charlotte Flower Chocolates. They are expensive though.

Paul a Young fine chocolates shop.paulayoung.co.uk/

The salted caramels are divine and you will never look at a ferrero rocher again if you try the hazelnut pralines! The mixed assorted truffles also gorgeous

I had these for my secret Santa Christmas present one year and they are delicious

We've had some chocolate from Oban Chocolate which was gorgeous. You can order online, and there's an option to create your own box - so it's closer to what you could get visiting a chocolaterie in person

Came to say this. Their milk chocolate is amazing, and as a soft-centre fan, I've ordered myself a large box of fondants for Christmas.

Their CS was also very good last year when I queried some ingredients.

BeChocolat chocolate shop in Brighton. Amazing chocolates, outstanding quality. They have a website and take online orders.

Mince314s · 06/12/2022 18:12

If you decide to buy more chocolates I recommend cenu cacao

Gatekeeper · 06/12/2022 18:20

Oh my!!!! I am overwhelmed at all the choice and didn't even know I was in desperate need of a really good box of chocs. I've just ordered a 36 box of Kennedy's Xmas Blush

I am enjoying my Prestat at the moment. Earlier in the year I loved a mixed box from Betty's.

DisforDarkChocolate · 06/12/2022 18:31

Paul A Young's chocolates are bloody amazing. They would be my choice or a special treat to share.

I've bought Harry Specters as gifts and people have loved them but I've never had any yet.

Audrey’s of Hove rose and violet creams.

These are also very good!

Mary28 · 06/12/2022 18:36

Godiva gets my vote here too.
A friend from Belgium visited a few months back and left a present of a bar of chocolate and I think it was the nicest I've ever had.

Whateverhappenedtovalancesheet · 06/12/2022 18:38

Zara's are delicious www.zaraschocolates.com/
I was one lucky enough to be selected as a taste taster😋😋

Dogsgottabone · 06/12/2022 18:38

Chococo is my vote although OP I see you have already splurged, I hope you enjoy your chocs.

CatastropheAgain · 06/12/2022 18:40

These chocolate bon bons are beautiful and the most delicious chocolates I have ever eaten. A wonderful small business too www.studio28patisserie.co.uk/

Speedweed · 06/12/2022 18:41

Another vote for Audrey's of Hove...they also make the chocolates for Fortnum and Mason

PolkaDotMankini · 06/12/2022 18:42

monsteronahill · 06/12/2022 18:42

Art chocolat are an amazing small business and their chocolates are amazing!

comfortablyfrumpy · 06/12/2022 18:43

Leonidas - not as pricey as Godiva or Neuhaus but IMO just as good :)

Lily O'Briens are the best chocolates I've ever had! Mind you this was 10 years ago and they've probably gone down the same route as Cadbury and Thorntons now Sad

Second this. Lily O'Briens are fantastic.
