Does anyone else thinking Christmas goes on forever now?

Been away at the weekend and all the bars/restaurants were decked out (which was lovely) yet the Christmas markets weren't open.

I just think it's getting out of hand. No one used to put their decorations up in November. As my nana would say "people will think you're not right" but now it's the norm?

By time Christmas comes round I'm done with it and the excitement/festive feels isn't the same!

I blimmin love Christmas but it belongs in December. These weirdos putting their decs up now are just tragic.

Yy show of hand's.

I do think going to early kills off the super special feeling However, it's all fun isn't it.
There is enough grime and grit and rain and darkness....it's great us Himanshu create light and fun at the darkest time of year.

Personally I prefer the build up, soon as Halloween 🎃, then it's on to Christmas, better to spread it out rather than e.g. Just a week

For everyone saying it's not a new thing ... I don't recall when growing up everyone putting their tree up on 1st nov.
Yes shops and town lights etc but not a tree

Before I had dc I would have decorated mid December. I’d prefer to wait until Christmas Eve but I have adhd and that is putting far too much stress on my executive function skills. I could easily miss Christmas completely cutting it too fine!

Because of the dc I started decorating on the 1st December and honestly I’m sorry I didn’t instil more advent traditions but it’s so counter culture when the rest of society are in full celebration.

I still think of Christmas as 24th-6th, but these days everyone else seems over it long before the 1st January and all the sweets and indulgences are pushed aside.

I feel completely out of step all the way along
