Are oodies worth the money?

Or are the generic non-branded ones just as good? I think my DC would love them, but they're so expensive. If they're actually miles better then their competitors than I don't mind splashing out - but are they?

Worth every penny!

Spinningaround18 · 06/11/2022 14:56

Primark one doesn't even compare, definitely go with a proper Oodie, they're worlds apart (speaking as someone who bought both in the last couple of months)

AdamRyan · 06/11/2022 15:44

I bought a family pack of oodies for dc and dsc 2 years ago and they all live in them. Definitely worth the money.
One of DSC had a knock off as well and it's nothing like the same

LadyIckenham · 06/11/2022 15:52

I think it depends what you need them for. Have oodies and Primark/dunelm versions. Children tend to prefer the latter as they're a bit easier to move around in. Oodies can be quite bulky, particularly over clothes.

ikeawardrobe · 06/11/2022 15:53

The Oodie is far superior in terms of quality and warmth. We also have a Kuddly and I have found the Kuddly to be on par with some of the better ones from Primark. I was disappointed with the Kuddly when it came as I found it to be the same as my Primark one but twice the price.

The Oodie is much better. Better material.

Dd loves the real oodie as she is always cold. It’s lovely and thick and warm.
Ds however, has a Next version which is just fleece without the thick lining. Perfect for him as he’s far too warm a person for the real thing!

Amoreena · 06/11/2022 18:07

I'd be too hot in a real Oodie I think as I don't feel the cold. So a sienna is perfect for me. It would be good for some one who feels the cold though

rubytubeytubes · 06/11/2022 18:10

I have a dunelm one which is very thick and much cheaper - very similar to an oodie so I wouldn’t buy an oodie

MrsDoubtfired · 06/11/2022 18:17

I pre ordered 4 Kuddlys yesterday for £139. I think £35 each is a good price.

On the pre order blurb it says they will be delivered by 20th Dec, when my order confirmation came through it had a delivery estimate of 3 to 5 days!!!

LouiseBelchersPinkBunnyEars · 06/11/2022 18:43

i got me and dd oodies last year. We both are 5 foot and the adult ones are so large and bulky so can’t really do anything whilst wearing. They are great for sitting on the couch or in bed tho and really warm.
my ds has 3 cheaper ones and they are not as bulky or heavy so he wears his all the time. (he’s severe sen) and he loves them.
Really depends on what you want them for

Hi @MadameSzyszkoBohusz Thanks for posting! If you're still looking for the perfect thing to keep you warm this winter, take a look at our article on the best blanket hoodies. It was written after researching consumer reviews and the recommendations of Mumsnet users. Hope you find it useful.

The Comfy one's are good. They do a kids size as well if you need a smaller one. They wash well & dry overnight if hung up. Currently £29.99 at Costco.

Stormyscratchywindows · 14/11/2022 16:45

DD has an Oodie and DS has an Amazon one. The Oodie one is loads nicer, really nice quality and super warm. That said DS is equally happy with his £20 one so I'm not sure they even notice the difference.

VeruccaSalty · 14/11/2022 17:15

They are not worth £80 but if you can get them 241, then i would say they are worth it. Ours worked out at £42 each and we wear them every evening to save on heating!

OneMerryJadeDreamer · 18/10/2025 11:02

I definitely dont think they are worth the money- loads of places sell them just as nice and as good. £89 thats a deposit for a holiday!

LastNameBeeswaxFirstNameNunnuyar · 18/10/2025 11:37

Online Home Shop from £4 depending on size or colour (plus p&p)

MrsPerfect12 · 19/10/2025 13:54

I’ve had my Kudd.ly for years - since Oddies became a thing. The material is still great and doesn’t look years old. I would replace it with another. 💯 worth it imo.
