Would this a silly gift?

Thinking of ways to cut back a bit this year... My family (extended) love my homemade custard and I'm considering making a big batch of it, decanting into smaller containers and freezing it, then giving as a gift? Not just on its own obviously! But would that be an odd gift? My DSIS was telling me about her dessert the other day and she was about to heat a carton of Tesco own brand custard and said it's not a patch on your homemade stuff. So it got me thinking. Honest opinions please!

I'd love this, if you can solve the practicalities of giving frozen food as a gift.
My dad always makes a fuss about custard in restaurants. Last year he got a gift pack of different sponge puddings and loads of custard (cartons not home made) he was beyond delighted and it was definitely the biggest secret Santa hit of Christmas.
