Please help! I'm so stuck on her "big present"
She has an iPad and a bike. I've got lots of little things but stumped on this.

Me too! My son says he doesn't want anything.
Was thinking of an x box, but really don't want to go down that road as he's on his switch a lot!
Has a bike
Tv
Switch

Wiggle scooter or trip to winter wonderland in London

Needmorelego · 26/10/2022 15:16

What does she enjoy doing?

EcoCustard · 26/10/2022 16:10

Is there an experience she might enjoy? Ds will be just 8 and grandma is getting him a half day falconry experience with handling.

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 26/10/2022 16:10

I didn’t have a clue what to get my 8yo but now I’m sorted. I’ve got her a drawing/drafting table, that’s just hers, and lots of art supplies, more grown up, specific ones just for her that won’t be put with the communal art and craft supplies. Things I got, canvas books, sketching pads, electric rubber, charcoal pencils and blending tools, water colour paints, posca pens. I’ve also bought create your own comic books, gatcha drawing books, calligraphy book.

I thought I was done but now I’m thinking I may need to get her some little draws to store everything in.

DD8 is finally getting an ipad and the ipen 2 she's desperate for.

StridTheKiller · 26/10/2022 17:56

@ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS That sounds awesome! I want that and I'm 36 years older than your DD.

Fivemoreminutes1 · 26/10/2022 18:00

Vtech Kidizoom watch
Instax camera
Karaoke machine - my DD had a RockJam one on her Amazon list.
Keyboard

LegoLady95 · 26/10/2022 18:02

Does she enjoy reading? My DD had a kindle paperwhite for 7th or 8th Xmas with a lovely case. Purposely bought the paperwhite as it is purely for reading, no web browsing etc.

girlmom21 · 26/10/2022 18:04

Do you mean she already has an iPad and a bike so they're not options?

Roller skates?

gohoggie · 26/10/2022 18:06

We often got my kids theatre tickets as their big presents. Cheaper = buy tickets for a show

More expensive = weekend in London with hotel (and hit the museums whilst there. The science museum is particularly child friendly).

There are loads of shows suitable for children - Matilda, frozen, lion king. If she's not into musicals, there's also cirque du soleil.

Only downside - it fuels a west end addiction that means my two teen daughters still like to see a show every year.

SaintVal · 26/10/2022 18:12

My DS8 would like a Fitbit for his 'main' present so that's easy!

😂

It took me a while to get there, she dosnt like toys or much really but spends all her tablet, quite often drawing or drawing on anything she can get her hands on.

ParentallyUnprepared · 26/10/2022 20:10

My 6 year old doesn't need anything so I asked him if he'd like a theme park trip instead. He bloody loves a theme park!

And, he's almost at a height where he can go on some thrill rides so he's eating lore vegetables so he'll grow faster so it's a win all round.

34and3 · 27/10/2022 07:44

Oh I just don't know! We have a switch and Xbox too and often do theatre etc anyway so I don't think she'd see that as a gift as she'd like something to unwrap. I'll have to keep thinking.

For context her sister 12 is getting an Apple Watch and GHDs as her main presents.

Ah yes she has a kindle and it's never used!

Kids Fitbit?
Decent headphones

34and3 · 28/10/2022 06:38

She has a Fitbit and headphones 😂 Maybe this year she'll get a few extra small presents instead of a "main".

girlmom21 · 28/10/2022 06:48

34and3 · 28/10/2022 06:51

9yo DD wants a hover board for Christmas this year.

TheTeenageYears · 28/10/2022 07:30

DD started getting concert tickets for Xmas at that age - it's something we've now done together for years and the memories will never be forgotten.

imnotthatkindofmum · 28/10/2022 07:41

Mine is getting an intact camera. I know she will actually use it as she's always nagging me to print off pictures! I'm going to get her a string and peg frame thingy to hang the pictures on.

TheGirlWhoLived · 28/10/2022 09:45

Maybe a puppy

Needmorelego · 28/10/2022 10:34

@TheGirlWhoLived I hope that's a joke.
