Hi all,

I'm not sure if this thread has been created already, so apologies if I've just missed it!

I thought we could share what our 2-3 year old little ones will be getting for Christmas this year, to help out anyone stuck for ideas for this age group or for anyone who is just wanting to have a nosy under someone else's Christmas tree 😉

my DS will be 2.8 at Christmas

from DH & I he is getting

  • Bike + helmet (Spiderman theme)
  • Thomas the tank engine motorised train track

Santa

  • Pop up pirate board game
  • Stocking (Santa's had a brain fart & can't remember what's in it atm) 😳

Grandparents

  • Toy kitchen + accessories
  • Farm toy set
  • Not sure what else, they are keeping tight lipped

Aunties/Uncles

  • Paw patrol Dino set + extra accessories
  • Money
  • Not sure what else, they are keeping tight lipped also!

I hope this has helped someone! Please share what you've gotten or are getting down below 😊

Our little boy will have just turned two.
We have bought

  • The Crocodile Dentist game
  • A little table and chairs
  • Some more Duplo - they have quite nice sets
  • A balance bike
I can't remember what else! I wanted to get him a little arm chair too as he has nowhere to sit downstairs!
lentilly · 23/10/2022 07:12

A vet set with toy dog
Some new clothes

That's it for now

Flowerfairy101 · 23/10/2022 07:21

DD 2.3

Ideas to be from us or family:

Leapfrog shop counter

The Christmas Bear book and giant floor puzzle (£5.99 in TKMAXX and makes a good present for tiny friends as well!)

Peppa pig playdoh ice cream van

Melissa and Doug magnetic dress up

Stocking:

Sylvanian family surprise bag
Peppa pig finger puppets
Jelly monster that goes on your finger
Wiggly worm thingy on a string
Crayons
Large bouncy ball

AliceTheCamelHasFiveHumps · 23/10/2022 07:32

DD will be 3y10days at Christmas. She's getting from various people for birthday/Christmas

  • Doctor dress up kit
  • pop up pirate
  • knitted doll clothes
  • pedal bike
  • whoopee cushion
  • Smart Games: three little piggies
  • Peanut ball
  • magnetic fishing game
  • connect 4
Yousee · 23/10/2022 07:37

DS will be 3.5 and is getting from us/Santa

  • large wooden garage with racing ramp
  • Melissa and Doug car dashboard
  • Playmobil VW campervan
3 quite big presents really, but I did very well in the sales over the summer!

Stocking contains glow sticks, magnifying glass, hot wheels colour change cars, Crayola scented sand kit, mini orchard game, bath bomb, bath slime.

1st December box will contain Paddingtons new Christmas post book, the Christmasaurus and a Mr Men Christmas story, plus a Christmas magic colouring book and stickers. Also some Christmas socks - last year's Christmas jumper will still fit as I deliberately got the size up but the socks definitely need topped up!

We are done but ideas in reserve for when family come knocking for ideas are Pop Up Pirate, hungry hippos, marble run, Kidizoom camera, dressing up stuff, playdoh set.

Other stocking ideas are slime, playdoh, magazine, bubbles, kinetic sand, colouring pens/pencils/paint sticks, projector torch, schleich animals, crazy soap, colour change bubble bath, mini night light figures, small Duplo set, Tonie figure. Sadly for DS, his stocking is a decent size but not big enough for all that lot, though maybe space left for one or two, as I need something to twitch at that's not that expensive 😂

CakeCrumbs44 · 23/10/2022 08:55

2.5yo will probably get the Melissa and Doug Sandwich Counter
She had the pizza and ice cream ones last year and they're played with daily.
But I'm waiting for it to be reduced as I'm not paying £50 for it!

A colour in playhouses from Hobbycraft (£10)

Where's Bluey? book and a Bluey Magnet playbook (£4 each in Sainsbury's)

Stocking:
Playmobil puppies
Cuddly toy
Stickers
Kids nail polish
Dressing up crown and wand
Bath bomb
Chocolate coins
Toothbrush
Probably socks or pyjamas

WhiteJeans07 · 23/10/2022 09:27

DD will be nearly 3. So far we've got planned:

On 1 December she'll get the Christmas Duplo gingerbread house set from grandparents, and from us she'll get a new pair of Christmas PJs and a Christmas book

DH and I:
Toniebox and some figures for it
Shopping trolley and till
Light projector
Dressing up clothes

Santa stocking:
Sylvanian figures
Stickers
Chocolate coins
An orange
Mini squishmallow or similar
Toothbrush
Hair clips
Crayons

Grandparents:
2 Sylvanian houses and furniture
Books

Auntie:
Another Sylvanian set
Pay for a day to the farm

Her birthday is only 2 weeks after Christmas so need to bear that in mind. For her birthday we've got tickets to a kids show that's on locally, and I'm thinking of getting her a scooter.

Bobbins2022 · 23/10/2022 09:31

DS will be 3.2 at christmas and will be getting:

From Mammy and daddy: Playmobil 123 zoo

From Santa: Toot toot garage (hopefully second hand if I can find it)

Pop up pirate
Couple of jigsaws
Couple of books
Melissa and doug reusable stickers
Playdoh fun factory
Glow in the dark stars
Stocking is tiny and will probably have bubbles and a couple of those balls you get out of those £1 machines with little toys inside. He's obsessed but it's very rare I let him have one.

I think grandparents are getting him a scooter and a toy shop.

Possibly Playdough

Basically not much as no one can afford it this year :(

WimbyAce · 23/10/2022 10:52

Also have a 2.8 at Christmas, she has use of most of her older sisters toys so we won't go mad. Thinking maybe a balance bike. Also got several books so far when on sale and a big peppa and George. Looking out for stocking ideas as I can't remember what I did before at this age!

DearBangtan7 · 24/10/2022 00:10

Such great gift ideas! Such lucky kiddos on Christmas morning 💜

Keep the ideas coming! 😊

I've just ordered an easel from Aldi and we're considering a Yoto box.

Aria999 · 24/10/2022 01:03

Thinking maybe a play kitchen for dd, nearly 3. Only then I will need to play kitchens with her 🤦‍♀️

She has inherited her brother's paw patrol collection including the tower and is paw patrol obsessed so she doesn't need much else lol!

Recently gave her a hotwheels set with slides and little garage spaces, that used to be DS's, and that's going down fairly well.

Last year we got her a nugget play sofa and they both enjoy that (DS is 6).

Cardboard Fort building kit has also been good though they would need help to build it (in our house DS builds and DD gets him the pieces).

EcoCustard · 24/10/2022 06:10

Dc4 will be 3.5 at Christmas and is getting:
Schleich/playmobil Farm
potato harvester
combine harvester
box of cars
Hungry hippos
Jellycat fox

Stocking so far:
smarties tube
hot wheels car
kaleidoscope
farm/car sticker book
animal figure
Gruffalo snap card game

The most successful Christmas present in our house for the 4 Dc at Christmas was the leapfrog ice cream cart, 5 years later still played with. Toy kitchen dc1 got for 2nd birthday and still played with by all Dc.

lentilly · 24/10/2022 06:17

?potato harvester* that sounds so sweet

EcoCustard · 24/10/2022 06:31

@lentilly he is farm mad, as are his 3 siblings. He’s been asking for one since summer to go on his tractor. It even has tiny potatoes to harvest 😁

Aw that's so cute!

houseargh · 24/10/2022 06:44

DD 2.3 at Christmas will be getting:

Balance bike and helmet
Something to go with the toy kitchen she got for birthday - maybe pizza, toaster, cake
An apron for baking with me
Craft materials

Stocking ideas so far:
Farm in a box
Chocolate buttons
Socks
Bath bomb
Hair clips
Small cuddly toy
Small musical instrument
Wind-up toy
Stickers
Purse

Family will probably ask for ideas and I have no more at this stage so will have a good read of this thread!

MyBuggyIsOutToGetMe · 24/10/2022 06:47

Some great ideas here! DC2 will be 3 a few weeks after Christmas so always feel like we have to save up all our ideas for a three week period of the year. He is also the younger one so has inherited lots from his older brother.

At the moment, he normally gets fewer presents and his stocking is padded out with things like nice clothes (by which I mean things they would like as well as need, eg character pyjamas - see below). But there will come a point where this isn’t an option as he will see what his brother has, and I think we may be close this year. Though I don’t want to buy stuff for the sake of it either.

We are definitely eyeing up the Aldi easel. I’ve also sourced Paw Patrol pyjamas from Sainsburys (they were on offer last week) as he is obsessed with Paw Patrol. We may get him a bigger toy from Paw Patrol depending on price as some are really expensive and we don’t have an unlimited amount of space.

CoffeeLover90 · 24/10/2022 14:22

I'd forgotten pop up pirate existed and now need to buy it. For the child of course 😉
@MyBuggyIsOutToGetMe I've bought quite a few paw patrol things on marketplace in the past, it's worth a look, they're a fraction of the price and ones I got hardly used.
DS 3 and a half at Christmas. I have:
Ride on tractor with pedals
Mud kitchen
Garden activities table
I like to get outdoors stuff for Christmas, they were all on sale and it means he has something to play with when weather's nice instead of waiting until his birthday.
Also-
Coat
Shoes and trainers
Clothes
PJs
Books
Duplo train and blocks
Rocket toy for stocking
Just need some chocolates now.
Family are mostly buying him new clothes. He gets money from grandparents which I'll spend on clothes and some in his savings.
I start buying early and I've got some great bargains this year. Duplo train for example, reduced from £36 to £9,

sunshineandrain82 · 24/10/2022 15:04

Youngest dd will be 3 in February but has global development delay and is more 6-12m.

So far we have connetix ball run
Peppa pig sets
A personalised chef apron as she loves baking with me

VestaTilley · 25/10/2022 14:37

Our DS will be 3.5 at Christmas.

He’s getting:
a pedal bike from GPs,
a keyboard from us (it’s for us all really, but we’ll bring it out on Christmas Day, secondhand and a real bargain),
a (second hand off EBay) toddler size desk and chair from Father Christmas,
a spaceman dressing up costume and some books from us.
His stocking will contain second hand Thomas Brio trains (EBay) and the traditional satsuma and chocolate money.

I’ve asked my DPs to get him an Etch A Sketch, and will ask my DSis to get him some books and an Orchard Toys game. He’s also getting a dolls house with second hand furniture that I got for him last year from Argos and EBay, but I held it back from last year as he got so much.

He’s a very fortunate boy and already has most big things. He also has a lot of family and will get a lot more than this from them. Last year we overdid it and it’s both unnecessary and unjustifiable. It won’t cost a lot as so much of it is second hand or being bought by relatives. As it is, I still feel very guilty that we have so much, when so many children will have such a hard Christmas.

Our DS will be 3 years, 6 months at Christmas.

He is getting:

From us:

Pedal bike
Two Marvel figures
A set of Spiderman figures
Some books

From Santa:

A box of monster trucks
Baby Shark underpants
Socks
Box of Lindt chocolates (his favourite 😂)

From family:

My brother - some Paw Patrol vehicles
My other brother - some clothes
My mum - clothes
My best friend - pyjamas and a monster truck
My dad - Lego

I can't work out if it looks a lot written down, or very little, but we're trying to keep Christmas simple. He has so many toys and all he's interested in is playing with cars and trucks so we've stuck to that toy-wise, and just asked for clothes/pyjamas from others xx
