I always struggle with this and find dd so easy in comparison. Neither are keen to stop getting stockings just yet.

He'll be 15 this year, any ideas appreciated.

Shampoo bar
Grooming kit. Last year I bought a black toilet bag and filled it with a comb, miniature hair gels and other 3 for 2 from Superdrug, nail clippers.

My son just forgot his electric razor on holiday and had a wet shave and preferred it, so I’m getting him things from Harry’s.

IHateHeatWaves · 19/08/2022 11:21

Voucher for Turkish Barber if you have one. My boys love going for a haircut, plus a manly eye brow wax, face steam and massage.

mumonthehill · 19/08/2022 11:22

i go for nicer than he normally has, so nice socks, boxers, shower gel, body spray. Chocolate, snacks, a mug and hot chocolate, little bits for a hobby.

ToTryToDelight · 19/08/2022 15:24

Oh I like the marshmallow toaster idea! They’re on offer on Amazon atm.
my teen also like Japanese sweets so I’ll look out for them.
He’ll be getting razors etc and hot chocolate bombs.
A Parker pen went down well last year, so might get him another.

IHateHeatWaves · 19/08/2022 17:57

Yes to both of these

IHateHeatWaves · 20/08/2022 17:35

Then anime magazines, Funko Pops collectibles.

MissyB1 · 20/08/2022 17:42

Ds will be 14 at Xmas, I’m cutting back this year so not filling stocking with “stuff” for the sake of it. He mainly wants food treats!

big bar fruit and nut
set of juggling balls
bag of haribos
slipper socks
tube of Pringles

IfSheOnlyKnewThen · 20/08/2022 18:11

Bracelet.
Wax seal stamp with his initial & wax beads for it.
Quill & ink.
Sweets.
Gloves you wear to use a graphics tablet.
Pringles.
Chocolate coins.
Fidget toys.
Book.
Silver Britannia.

GrannyWeatherwaxsBroomstick · 26/08/2022 15:34

@BeastOfBODMAS thanks, the book looks like just his kind of thing

I feel that over the past few years I’ve exhausted all of the suggestions mentioned - I have ds20 and ds15-well 16 just before christmas
I need new inspiration!

Standard stocking items
large toblerone
chocolate orange
tube of jelly belly beans

then I usually get about 7 more items
ninja wallet went down well with ds1 so maybe one for ds2
have done hot chocolate sachets in the past but we now have a coffee machine that does lovely hot chocs.
ds2 had a ton of art stuff last year he doesn’t need any more
ds1 is working now and buys what he needs himself, it’s hard to try and find treat items for him that aren’t food related.
i try and steer away from toiletries items also as that’s not a treat in my opinion!

I’ve said I’ll do stockings for as long as they live at home! Probably regretting that now!

Other ideas that may help others
mini tools like Allen keys
playing cards - you can get nice novelty ones on Amazon etc
costa gift card
spork for camping
torch
fingerless gloves - great for when ds did his paper round
seeds
art stuff
bike inner tube
puncture repair kit
leather bracelets

MissyB1 · 29/08/2022 11:51

@Beautifulsunflowers
have you thought about reducing the number of items in their stocking? Do they need so much (I presume they have other presents off you?) You risk just buying “stuff” that they don’t want or need.

Nidan2Sandan · 29/08/2022 14:05

We usually do

Fluffy socks
A small item (when younger it was a small lego poly bag or an action figure)
Blind bags are always a hit
Chocolate santa

Last year I did magic flannels and stickers for their light switches as well.

sheeplikessleep · 29/08/2022 14:15

Blatantly following as have a just about to turn 15 year old and 12 year old. Great ideas on here Thankyou!

PollyEsther · 29/08/2022 14:27

I did Costa vouchers for my DSs a couple of years ago, but Greggs vouchers last year were possibly an even bigger hit than their main presents! Grin

Obvs also do the ubiquitous socks, shower gel, toothbrush, lego etc. And a ridiculous amount of sweets/chocolate.

Gave all my DC (I have 4) a box of American cereal each 'in' their stockings one year, they still talk about it now!

jocktamsonsbairn · 04/09/2022 17:53

Love this wee find!

Every year he gets the usual including Percy pigs, greggs voucher, Wetherspoons voucher and designer boxers.
Previous hits have been sugo, portable chargers, wallet ninja. He looks after things pretty well!

Ordered him funky pop characters during lockdown which didn't arrive but now have so he'll be getting them finally!

Stuck for new inspiration!! It's his 21st coming up soon too so aaargggh!!!!

CoffeeChocolateWine · 05/09/2022 11:37

Looking for ideas too! DS will be 14 at Christmas. I also have DDs aged 10 and 4 and I struggle with the fact that their stocking are much more ‘fun’ than DS’s! I don’t know whether that’s a problem or not but I always try to add a couple of fun things for him but more often than they end up in a drawer collecting dust! But if I go more along the ‘stuff he’ll use’ route, I end up spending too much!

Anyway, ideas so far…
Toiletries
Highlighters or funky pens
Jolly ranchers
PS4 voucher
Small aftershave
Sodastream flavouring
cactus or Venus flytrap
Looking for one of those small cross-body bags to keep his phone and wallet in but not really finding one he’d like for stocking budget!

He loves Stranger Things so maybe some kind of mech but not sure what. He’s not into figures or the clothing really. I’m thinking maybe a poster or thinking cap??

A surprise hit last year…he loves history and I picked up a replica spear head from and English Heritage place which he really loved and has on display. I’m wondering if I could get him another kind of historic artefact. Ideas would be welcomed!

Starlightstarbright1 · 05/09/2022 11:41

One of the things i saw my ds use on x box was would you rather book for teenagers.
