And before anyone has a pop at me - I've posted in the Christmas section!

So, anyone started yet? I go all out at Christmas and my kids will be 24 and 16. They have rather expensive tastes and I like to treat them so I start quite early!

Anyone else admit they've started?

I've only gone in very gently ... one stocking filler for my eldest, it's a high end make up palette that I got for a steal!

I bought some single malt whisky for my BIL a few weeks ago-Sainsbury had an offer for £12 off!

MrsMcisaCt · 31/07/2022 13:09

Argos have released the latest Designafriend collection, so now I can really get started! DD has already pointed out her favourite doll and a couple of other bits too.

MrsMontyD · 31/07/2022 14:38

I bought DD some PJs I saw reduced last month and a Gingerbread candle I saw at a good price. I've started a list, that's as far as I've got.

HardRockOwl · 31/07/2022 17:35

Ordered an engraved razor plus shave cream for daughter - it's worth nearly £30 and got it for less than a fiver delivered so an ideal stocking filler

There are some very pretty new dolls!
I'm keen for them to release the rest of the autumn toys, wish they still had an actual catalogue!

Oh yes! I bought some Christmas bedding a few weeks ago 🎄 I start planning the next year on Boxing Day 🤣 I love Christmas and so does DS. This year we have DD for the first time too so it’s a special one ❤️

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 31/07/2022 18:17

ok, so I supposed to be holding off buying because we are moving, but it’s been so hard as I’m usually way ahead by now, I gave in when it came to the prime day sales though, it felt illogical to pass on good deals so I got my youngest DDs main present, Barbie Malibu dream house in the prime day sale. Also got a switch game some encanto Lego, Star Wars book and box of gem stones. DH also convinced me to buy a talking Grogu (baby yoda).

Ive got a collection of Barbie stuff I’ve been picking up in Aldi & Lidl when I see it on sale, I will give some to my dd for her birthday and keep the rest for Christmas.

Other bits I’ve got, some eye shadow pallets in primark clearance £2 each, Harry Potter note books, some leggings and hoodies in tescos sale, 2 winter sports jackets in sports direct sale, Belle play set, overwatch plushies

And this is me being restrained 😬

Moving next week so will really start hunting around for gifts.

Another few presents sorted! A bespoke silver ring for my daughter that's she's pointed put to me a few times (not a bargain, it was pricey but my rationale behind it is I've bought it NOW so by the time December rolls around, it's a long gone sunk cost Grin)

A beautiful dinner service set also for her - reduced from £86 to £7 (she has her own home, I'm not buying a dinner set for a 15 year old!)

My youngest - 15 - still only had a t shirt bought and stashed away but he's harder to buy for

@HardRockOwl where did you get the dinner service please? I've been looking for one.

VanillaIce1 · 31/07/2022 19:47

Yep. Got all my stocking fillers in the January sale so have 2 Sainsburys bags for life full of them for 3 kids.

And I'm doing really well on presents. My middle son loves Lego so I've been collecting them when they've been put in clearance in sainsburys too!

@LaTangerina you can sign up now at Smyths for the winter catalogue coming out in September

pimlicoanna · 31/07/2022 20:35

@MrsMcisaCt thanks for mentioning the Designafriend dolls. I've never heard of them before. I've just ordered the Melody music doll as I've been looking everywhere for a lovely brown eyed doll as one of my daughters hates her brown eyes.

HardRockOwl · 31/07/2022 20:36

@CakeCrumbs44 it was the wedgewood Vera wang 4 piece set but sadly out of stock

We get that one thank you, my daughter circles half of it 😂
Nice to have a proper toy book though. I guess at least argos do a small catalogue still for Christmas.

Ownerofmultiplechimps · 30/08/2022 17:44

I’ve got a few bits stashed for my 2 that I picked up earlier this year & managed to get a couple more this weekend as the entertainer had some big discounts on a couple of things they want.

Devo1818 · 30/08/2022 18:49

I've made a bit more of a start now, a few bits put away. Mostly bargains for dd, booze from duty free and a bargain Christmas Eve Yankee candle. Also 2 tubs of chocolate (well hidden) as they were 2 for £7, and some Christmassy books. Starting to look forward to the nights drawing in...

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 30/08/2022 19:25

I have the teen boy’s clothes bought. He lives in shorts and t shirts all year round so I was able to get stuff in the summer sale, it could freezing outside and he is still out in shorts.

I have teen daughter’s stocking pretty much done. She loves make up and beauty products so I have been picking up bits for a while now.

Nieces are all bought for, make up on deals over last few months.

Now, if I could only feel inspired to organise DH’s……..

GettingStuffed · 30/08/2022 20:26

I've bought a few bits and bobs. Main presents will be bought when we see them

I know what I'm getting DH but waiting for Black Friday deals! Do you have any ideas?

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 30/08/2022 20:42

@Devo1818 i have been getting the same things for DH for years now. Hoodies, something techy, something gadgety. This year I don’t want to get same old just for the sake of it.

Nanalisa60 · 30/08/2022 20:47

We are really going to cut back on presents this year, will be going for it as usual with lovely food and drinks, Panto booked , lucky have lovely Christmas decorations so don’t really need to buy any more will need to check they are all LED if they need plugged in!! We are doing a family secret Santa of £25 .

MrsMontyD · 30/08/2022 21:32

I got DD some perfume samples to try from 4160Tuesdays I ordered 6 (2.25ml each atomisers) but they sent a free one, so she's got 7 now. Hopefully there will be one she really likes and I'll buy her a full size bottle maybe for Easter or she can spend Christmas money.

I've got a few ideas but so far I've only bought the perfume and some PJs.

YorkieTheRabbit · 30/08/2022 22:29

I ordered my wrapping paper and ribbon from Cox&Cox at the weekend as there was 30% off.
Last week I bought a Liz Earle gift set from Next for my DSD, she really likes that brand and it is a very good price.
I’ve got a couple of stocking fillers OH, I’m awaiting inspiration for anything else
