Matching Xmas PJs

Do people wear them more than once?

Genuinely interested as my newsfeed is full of families in them. I get my DC new jammies each Xmas eve but just generic ones not Xmas ones and not for DH or me.

I don’t buy them. look silly in July! To be fair they look silly anyway!

AyeEee123 · 24/12/2021 21:39

Yes they wear them all year lol.

Groovee · 24/12/2021 21:41

My 2 wore last years ones all year. We have tartan ones this year so we can wear all year too x

BitterTits · 24/12/2021 21:43

We've never had matching ones but when my two have had Christmassy ones they've just worn them all year.

Starcaller · 24/12/2021 21:46

I wear my Xmas jammies all year Grin and DD has always worn hers till she grows out of them.

Cupcakegirl13 · 24/12/2021 21:48

Yes my dc wear there’s until they grow out off them it would be so wasteful otherwise.

ivykaty44 · 24/12/2021 21:50

we have got some this year for the first time. we lost dad last year and trying to make xmas different, so thought this was a bit of fun

RaraRachael · 24/12/2021 21:50

I think it is hilarious seeing whole families dressed up in matching pyjamas. When did this become a thing?
Last year a famous "hard man" sportsman posing in his was the funniest thing I saw all Christmas Grin

Bellafrenum · 24/12/2021 21:50

I buy matching ones for my kids. I give them to them on 1st December and they wear them all through December and I buy them a size up so they last 2 years.

RevolvingPivot · 24/12/2021 21:52

My Facebook is full of families all in them smiling looking happy. Not knocking it. All four of us have been in separate rooms since about 5 on and off 😢😢 they aren't even teens yet x

Becsim · 24/12/2021 21:59

This is a fab idea.

We have matching pjs and wear them all year, they are pjs who cares if they are christmas themed in July 🤷‍♀️

PotteringAlong · 24/12/2021 22:01

Yup, wear them all year!

StFrancisdeCompostela · 24/12/2021 22:30

My instagram feed has put me right off ever doing something like that. Every single family looks utterly ridiculous, and the blokes all look mortified in their too-tight, slightly see through, naff patterned pair. I haven’t seen a single pic that hasn’t made me cringe!

Blossom64265 · 24/12/2021 22:36

We do new Christmas pajamas for dc on Dec 1 so they can get lots of seasonal use. I don’t bother matching. They still get worn until they are outgrown.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 24/12/2021 22:41

I buy mine new PJs for Christmas Eve but not Christmas ones and rarely matching. We counted earlier how many years they had matched each other (2 girls) and it was 3 times out of 12. Adults don’t match and don’t get new PJs. I have also noticed the uncomfortable men on social media tonight.

purplebatbear · 24/12/2021 22:41

I find it hilarious and really cringey. Families dressed up in them look utterly ridiculous and I find it fun to play 'spot the' when I look at Facebook.

E.g. Spot the one who bought all the pj's as they thought it'd be fun or cute.

Spot the one who ABSOLUTELY HATES them.

Spot the one who is pretending to hate them for the camera but secretly quite likes them but will never admit it.

purplebatbear · 24/12/2021 22:43

So many uncomfortable looking men on Facebook tonight

Dollywilde · 24/12/2021 22:44

We don’t do matching pyjamas but DH wears Christmas socks all year around. DD is still small so I bought her Christmas pjs in November and I reckon she’ll have grown out of them by February, so she’ll need to get her wear out of them. A Christmas jumper in April might be a bit weird but socks/pjs - it’s not like anyone else is really going to see them. And the waste element would bug me.

Me too!!! And my dh would rather eat a bucket of cold sick than wear Xmas pj's let alone be all over socials for the world to see!!
Michellebops · 24/12/2021 22:54

Love them, and we wear them all year too.
Value for money ♥️

Atmywitsend29 · 24/12/2021 23:00

Mil bought us matching pjs last year, we wear them all year.

friedeggandsauce · 24/12/2021 23:07

We wear them all year! My mum used to get me and my sister pjs (which were matching way before it was a thing!) for us on Christmas Eve! I love it and don't care if we look silly 🤣

Pinkchocolate · 24/12/2021 23:12

Youngest DS and I have matching ones which we wear for most of December and until it gets too warm. We love them. DH and oldest child cringe at them so I don’t get the cheesy Facebook family photo.

Thickasmincepie · 24/12/2021 23:12

I've started doing this the last couple of years. They fit really badly and look shit, but the kids absolutely love it. I've bought bigger sizes for the kids, so they should fit next year too. But they'll wear them all year. I won't be sleeping in mine cos I don't like long pjs. But I'll be lounging in them this week.
