Matching Xmas PJs

Do people wear them more than once?

Genuinely interested as my newsfeed is full of families in them. I get my DC new jammies each Xmas eve but just generic ones not Xmas ones and not for DH or me.

Yes, lots of men looking very uncomfortable and a bit ridiculous. It's all harmless but I do find the photos a bit cringey if I'm honest!

Jellybean100 · 24/12/2021 23:19

You’ve got to love people knocking other people’s happiness. It’s literally the most harmless activity and some families have decided to make tradition. Some men are obviously way too manly to wear pyjamas with a pattern on them. Xmas Hmm

BabbleBee · 24/12/2021 23:22

Guilty. Even worse they’re delivered on Christmas Eve by the Elf…. Grin

41sunnydays · 24/12/2021 23:30

We had matching pjs once and yes we wore them all year round. I bought a plain navy too to go with my pj bottoms so I could wear them more

greenlynx · 24/12/2021 23:37

We don’t go matching pjs and buy them when we need them. Sometimes mine and DD’s pjs are Christmassy (if they’ve bought around December), we wear them all year around, the same with Christmas socks.

Jinglemychristmasbells · 24/12/2021 23:39

I brought me and dd matching elf onesies don't think we will wear them throughout the year but they will fit us next year to use again. I brought my son's matching Santa PJ's they will probably wear them throughout the year until they are too small. My 7 week old is wearing his brothers PJ's from when he was a baby tonight and will put his Santa ones on in the morning.
DH is a party pooper he don't wear PJ's so I have brought him a Santa outfit but he don't know yet hope he will put it on at some point.

I got matching 3 years ago. Mine don’t fit as I’ve got too fat but DH & kids have got them on. It’s the same set for DH and older 2, I just bought bigger sizes for them to grow into, it will definitely be the last year for them this year though. I bought my youngest 2 sizes for her to grow into. They come out December 1st with all the Christmas themed stuff and get packed away first week in jan. My plan is to stick them all on a gifting site next year to see if anyone wants them. Then I will buy a new set.

I wasn’t that fussed at getting them at first, I only did it as DCs asked but now I’m glad I did as they love them.

Borisjohnsonshairbrush · 24/12/2021 23:43

It's all for the Instagram and FB approval that they are a wholesome family. Vom.

Sunsetsupernova · 24/12/2021 23:49

My family are big into matching PJs. DP doesn’t usually join us for Christmas Eve/Day so hadn’t previously joined in the tradition. Last year as we spent it at home just us, my mum posted us both a pair. At first he was perplexed but ended up loving them and has worn them all year.

Jumpingintochristmas · 24/12/2021 23:54

Not a fan of festive matching ones but we do get themed family ones every Christmas Eve. This years are navy with stars. Last year we had tartan ones.

pluggee · 25/12/2021 00:09

I buy the dc xmas ones & give them on the beginning of Dec & they wear until too small. I don't buy matching ones & wouldn't partake myself.

DrSbaitso · 25/12/2021 11:14

Do people wear them more than once?

Yes of course they do! They just don't post the pictures every day. As well you know, with all your Genuine Interest.

And if you don't like it, you don't have to do it.

Notwithittoday · 25/12/2021 11:17

My mum bought ours and they’re charity pjs so feels slightly less ridiculous

WouldIBeATwat · 25/12/2021 11:25

we buy matching ones that aren’t Xmas themed and wear them all year.

Ponoka7 · 25/12/2021 11:27

My DD bought Next woodland ones and they can be worn all year round. My eldest has got them all the Alderhey charity onto wear tonight and they will be worn over winter by the adults, then used to decorate/dye hair/garden etc in, or put away for over the advent. The children wear their's until they don't fit.
Me and my youngest (23) get matching PJ's from Primark, for the last two years they've been reindeer themed and we will wear them over winter. We have been wearing last year's from late November.
People buy new clothes for Christmas day, do you think that they are only worn once as well?

LondonWolf · 25/12/2021 11:28

Ours are red plaid brushed cotton and worn throughout the winter 🎄

Fallagain · 25/12/2021 18:38

My DDs get matching Christmas PJs and wear them all year long (when its PJ weather) but they were wearing Halloween clothes this week. DH and I get complementing PJs which we wear all year.

Mrsmch123 · 25/12/2021 22:06

We just wear them on Xmas eve because they look a bit silly in July and because they are cheap from bnm they don't wash well so are no good anyway.

Blackopal · 25/12/2021 22:14

We do this, my dds love it. We wear them all year round. I never post a single picture (of anything)on social media.

PurplePansy05 · 25/12/2021 22:18

Well, we like them and wear them all year round. It's pjs, why not. Also it's a bit of fun, we have ours on Christmas Eve and wear them for the first time then, always open presents wearing them. There are worse things to get annoyed about than patterned pyjamas 😂

Mrsmch123 · 25/12/2021 22:19

@WouldIBeATwat granted it's a bit wasteful but I don't have anything else to do with them.

FrancescaContini · 25/12/2021 22:19

Really naff

friedeggandsauce · 25/12/2021 22:51

I don't understand why people can't wear them all year round ?? We do regardless! They probably get worn less in the hot months but they'll be back out again in autumn!

lunar1 · 25/12/2021 23:00

We use them all year, they all fit properly and DH loves them as much as the rest of us. I give zero fucks what anyone else thinks.
