Who is joining me in the annual toy build? What are you building?

We need to put together a kitchen. Feeling quite smug cos it's already half done. Just need to fasten the top to the bottom and attach the cupboard doors.

The bloody thing has already caused a lot of swearing and need for the first aid box, so hoping the last bits won't take too long!

Ha ha us too! Tooth fairy came for dd last night and ds decided his needed to come out today lol. So the tooth has gone on the Christmas Eve plate (at ds request) and it will be a double whammy 😂

My dh and his friend spent a good 4 hours putting together a trampoline for the kids this afternoon. I then had to amuse them out of the house until it got dark so they couldn’t see it in the garden! Poor dh and friend got soaked doing it. Big Daddy points for that 😂

An ikea kitchen. Send help 😫

ChocolateCakeYum · 24/12/2021 22:04

A gaming chair.

I stupidly thought it would come assembled (or at least partially) but nope. It has a ton of bits that slot and screw in. Urgh. I much preferred it when he was into trains, loved putting his train sets together!

Nothing this year! Whoop whoop! I have in the past done a toy kitchen, barbie camper van/malibu beach house/private plane!
This year no presents need assembly or stickering

The posts about cozy coupes make me shudder at the memories of the Christmas DH and I nearly divorced. I have NC’ed for this as I have told it IRL.

3 toddlers, 3 cozy coupes bought by PIL but not fucking assembled by them. Having remembered the difficulties 15 years previously in assembling DD1’s I told DH we needed to do them before Christmas Eve night, but oh no, he knew better and “it will be alright”. There were many expletives from both of us when we were still assembling the third at 3.30am. Assembly got progressively harder as we both became irate and drank more. The bloody toddlers were awake at 5.30!

Sadly/fortunately depending on your point of view nothing to assemble here this year.

A piano stool. Fortunately it didn't prove too difficult, so there's now just the stocking to sort and then we can retire for the night.

Another Paw patrol tower here as well but was ok in all fairness. Glad I hadnt opened the Baileys before applying the stickers though

Our table was very rickety so we tightened that up!
No toys to build thankfully!

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 24/12/2021 23:46

Came on to say the bastard cosy coupe! I think it lulls you into a false sense of security cos it only looks like 3 pieces of plastic - it nearly caused a divorce in our house!

Nothing to build this year but I did have to wrap a 3 foot giraffe!

CoodleMoodle · 25/12/2021 00:01

We did a scooter and a Hot Wheels Ultimate Garage. Scooter was fairly easy! DH did that. He also built the garage but I did the stickers. I was also the one to cover the big presents over, put everything else under the tree, and sneak the stockings in.

Welshmumma92 · 25/12/2021 00:41

Cozy coupe. Never again. Thought it would be easy enough to assemble. 3 hours, a couple of fingers accidentally caught with the hammer and probably every swear word under the sun muttered through gritted teeth, I was well and truly wrong.
