Jamie Oliver's Beef Bourguignon hopefully.
We are hosting for 8 and we won't have enough leftovers as we aren't having turkey as only us (DH and toddler) on Xmas Day.

We also don't have a table at the moment (long and uninteresting story) so need something that can be eaten in a bowl on laps fairly easily. So a one-pot wonder is required.

It might not be Bourguignon if we can't get beef cheeks though.....

There will also be much cheese and puddings.

Greydogs123 · 21/12/2021 15:26

Buffet lunch and then a bit of soup with whatever’s left in the evening.

Zeflyinghelmetandzevetcelery · 21/12/2021 15:28

@SpookyScarySkeletons He's landed on his feet to find someone so appreciative too. I hadn't thought of putting stuffing in the pie, I was going to cheat by stirring some condensed chicken or mushroom soup into the filling. Maybe I'll include stuffing too. Smile

ItsSunnyOutside · 21/12/2021 15:42

We are going over to my parents, who do a great boxing day spread...

Turkey and stuffing stuffing sandwiches on crusty bread
Also Tuna mayo and egg mayo sarnies
Cheesey 'sausage' rolls
Salad
Crisps
quiche
Potato salad
Pickles and chutneys etc
Cheese board and crackers with olives/grapes
Trifle for pudding

furbabymama87 · 21/12/2021 15:44

Gammon, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes.

Babdoc · 21/12/2021 15:48

Delia’s cheese, sage and parsnip roulade (I made it in advance and froze it) with a buffet lunch, then turkey curry for dinner, with artisan cheesecakes for pudding, from the local farmers market (Galaxy Ripple ones, yum!).

Forgotthespuds · 21/12/2021 15:54

McDonalds

LaTomatina · 21/12/2021 15:56

Quality Street.

CraftyGin · 21/12/2021 15:59

Leftovers, but planned rather than a free-for-all.

I usually make Delia's turkey and ham pie.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 21/12/2021 16:00

Leftovers boosted with freezer party food nonsense.

KupoNutCoffee · 21/12/2021 16:15

Normally have the parents come over on boxing day, and do too much party food, turkey wraps etc., then a curry with the leftover turkey the next day.

This year, its sounds like I'm having another turkey...we're descending on my sister, and as she's working Christmas day itself, her partner is doing Christmas Dinner on boxing day.

troppibambini6 · 21/12/2021 16:27

We have family over on Boxing Day and we have party food and nice cold meats, cheese etc...
I cook on Xmas day so I don't like anything that's too much work.

SingingSands · 21/12/2021 16:29

We're going to my Mum and she's doing a goose. Basically Christmas dinner part 2 as we're spending Christmas Day with my in-laws.

Itsnotdeep · 21/12/2021 16:36

We'll have the ham and leftover turkey with some salads. Plus trifle and leftover sweet stuff from the day before.

I'm not sure where the cheese fits in yet - possibly tea. Or breakfast.

languagelover96 · 21/12/2021 16:46

My mom is doing it this year. She has stocked up on crisps, cold cuts of meat, mince pies, cheese and fruit platters, wine, canapes, dips, candy canes, potato salad, cranberry sauce, pork pies, charcuterie and drinks too.

shivbo2014 · 21/12/2021 18:33

Beef casserole in the slow cooker.

ChocolateCakeYum · 21/12/2021 18:41

A full roast Christmas dinner.

Not doing one on Saturday (Christmas day), a roast on Saturday feels wrong so we’re just having buffet style food.

RedwineforSantaplease · 21/12/2021 19:20

Cheese, crackers & nibbles for lunch
Leftover roast for dinner

lurkingfromhome · 21/12/2021 19:48

Christmas dinner sandwiches - basically as many leftovers as I can cram between two slices of ciabatta. With a ramekin of gravy for dipping!

Bubble and squeak

Cranberry cheesecake which I will make on Christmas Eve. It keeps well for a few days.

Chocolates. Lots of chocolates.

CrumblyCrimble · 21/12/2021 20:07

Shed load of family coming over, DH making pizza

Cookies4Claus · 21/12/2021 20:13

Sausage & mash with red onion chutney and gravy. I have no idea what we’re having on Christmas Day, maybe a snacks buffet.

Timeisavirtue · 21/12/2021 23:22

Buffet type foods from M&S, Iceland and sainsburys ...

Ellieboolou33 · 21/12/2021 23:30

Cold meats, gammon, turkey, homemade coleslaw & mash, cheese, pickles, sausage meat stuffing balls, love Boxing Day dinner

blibblibs · 21/12/2021 23:40

Boxing day tradition is a huge frittata with all the leftovers, I think I enjoy it more than the actual Xmas day meal.

HolesInMySocks · 22/12/2021 00:57

Whatever the in laws cook or buffet. I have no idea.

And 27th whatever my df cooks or maybe buffet again no idea? Imagine buffet as 18 of us

Both just want me to take dessert suitable for the dcs.
