Title because the last one’s nearly used up and I haven’t got time to do my usual picking of a title, sorry.

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

I'm stuck - my best friend has a new partner and they will be coming to me over Xmas obviously I have some really nice gifts for my friend but I don't know her partner at all, we have met only once previously. I had ordered the Papier Pen and refills and that has arrived and looks lovely however I wanted the Blue one but that wouldn't take the code off so I ended up ordering the light Blue/Green one. I showed it to hubby and he pointed out that theres a P on the top of the case and our surname begins with P so he thinks it will look like its something of mine that I am regifting Sad and I think he's right.

Sooo any suggestions welcome for something between £10 - £15 whose taste I don't know but which looks like I actually put some thought into it and got specifically for him.

@Thisisbatshit, last November I bought a Lavazza Milk Easy Milk Frother, as recommended on this list. It’s definitely my most used purchase of 2020 and 2021.

It has 3 settings - frothing cold milk, heating and frothing milk, and making frothy hot chocolate from milk and grated chocolate. It is VERY easy to clean. My favourite use for it is frothing a little milk to top my (instant, low calorie) hot chocolate, as it looks like thick whipped cream and tastes good.

It’s currently £39 at John Lewis, in stock in some stores but out of stock online. I ordered a Velvitiser when it was on offer earlier this year but sent back as I didn’t think it was going to be significantly better.

When I bought mine it was significantly reduced (price matched) but it seems to have been £39 in JL for a while now.

PurpleMustards · 14/12/2021 17:36

@Thisisbatshit

We love hot chocolate in this house. We have an older milk frother thing (the kind that looks like a mini kettle). Is the velvitiser basically the same? I find it a pain to clean- how is the velvitiser?

Thank you! Thinking of asking for one from my mum who is stuck for present ideas.

I got a velvetiser for my birthday from my MIL and I love it. It's so easy to use and extremely easy to clean. I just rinse it out and then you put water in it, add three drops of washing up liquid and then press the button and it cleans itself Smile

Thought I was done but Hermes have managed to lose my OnlineHomeShop parcel containing the weighted blanket I ordered for my mum Xmas Angry

Just had an email saying unexplained delivery problem and we can't resend as out of stock so we've refunded you

So now looking for weighted blanket recommendations please!!

kingat · 14/12/2021 17:37

I have last minute jigsaw and board games to buy.
Is there a WHSmith code still working? Or The Works

Gracesquirrel · 14/12/2021 18:09

I've sorted what to get for best friends partner - I decided to have a browse through Amazons deals page and came across VonShef Whiskey Stones & Glasses Gift Set in a lovely wooden box normally £19.99 but £5 off today so £14.99. Looking at the real pictures in the reviews it looks a lot more expensive than it actually is and is a nice substancial present so I'm pleased.

Glasses set

Hi all, thought I was done 3 threads ago but I’m back! Youngest has asked Father Christmas for ‘a styling head where you can do the hair and make up’. Any ideas what that means??

sssp · 14/12/2021 18:17

Hello All,
Have also posted on referral thread, but just wondering if anyone might have either a discount or referral code for Moshulu?
Looking to get some slippers for my Mum, but hate paying delivery charges after so many bargains from this fabulous thread!
Thank you in advance 🙂

springlike · 14/12/2021 18:20

@Minionbums is that like a Girls World type of thing? Maybe showing my age but these were popular in the 70s Smile

EverybodyKeepCool · 14/12/2021 18:23

Aldi have weighted blankets coming in. 4.5kg & 7kg I think

My dd pointed one out in B&M last week which you can do hair and makeup on!
Minionbums · 14/12/2021 18:25

@springlike I had a girls world Smile. I remember it being just hair though, not make up! Thanks @PurpleMustards I’ll have a mooch in B&M…

cymrumam · 14/12/2021 18:26

@Gracesquirrel I ordered a personalised pocket diary from Papier with a referral code for under £10. Perhaps your DH could open an account too.

Alternatively reusable coffee cup and £10 voucher for local independent cafe? Scarf? Ask friend his preferred tipple?

Notlongnow1 · 14/12/2021 18:36

Don't suppose anyone has a Boden code they won't use? Thought I was done for the kids but just spotted something else I'd love to get them!

MartyDoc · 14/12/2021 18:51

@AnotherOne4 (I think it was you!) I put in a quick order for some icicle lights as our current set our really too short for our new house. That tree looks lovely! I have to admit I don’t really know / use Homebase as dont have one locally.

Hopeislost · 14/12/2021 19:05

@HoHoJ0 I have the Sensationail starter kit and it's good. I bought my mum one from the Aldi website recently.

Justonedayatatime11 · 14/12/2021 19:09

@Minionbums I have one if you'd like it? Bought for DD as a Christmas present this year only to find someone else has bought the same and I missed the returns window. PM me if you'd like it

clpsmum · 14/12/2021 19:11

10% off at boden FNJSF9PC9

Notlongnow1 · 14/12/2021 19:17

Thanks @clpsmum but didn't work. Items already reduced, so that may be why, unless somebody else swooped in silently!

EwDavid · 14/12/2021 19:44

Hi all, can anyone recommend a chemistry/potion set for an 8 year old? Thanks

Oh no how annoying, sorry x
AnotherOne4 · 14/12/2021 19:55

@MartyDoc Thanks for posting about it (Homebase offers) I actually went and got two of these I'm having doubts now. When you flick between the pics, one picture looks nice, the other one looks a bit sad Confused
One thing with online shopping is, you have to remember how they make things look bigger/better/more impressive in pictures. If I saw it in a shop in real life, I'd probably never buy it. I'm a sucker for online shopping though....
I'll wait and see what turns up....Grin

@whoknows1230

I’m gutted…DD saw the list of gifts I’ve bought for her and her sibling. It was completely my fault - I put it down on my way to do something else and forgot to move it. She hadn’t gone looking. It says “DD’s stocking” and “DD’s sack” with the gifts listed underneath so it is completely obvious. There were several presents on there that were things she hadn’t asked for, just little extras like body sprays, a selection box and so on, that were supposed to be surprises and now she’s seen everything. She said she didn’t read it but I’m certain she’s just trying to protect my feelings. We haven’t had the Father Xmas chat but I’ve well and truly blown it, haven’t I? 😢 I’m so upset and I don’t know how to rescue it, or even if I can.
I feel for you!

But you could just explain that FC always sends the list for you to check. You thought a lot of it looked really good, because you’ve been going through it together for a while, but (big secret to share because she’s such a big girl now) you suggested some it it should be different for the final list. Then you switch out some of the items, saving them for next year.

LastStarFighter · 14/12/2021 20:00

@Autumnleaves4 based on some suggestions on here and on another thread, I have bought home-gym stuff for my DS (15) - a pull up bar that fits over the door, TRX training system (30% off on Amazon, or cheaper dupes available at Decathlon), exercise mat, foam roller. Could something like that work?
