🤔 I was surprised to see that the Co-op already has the Christmas edition of the Radio Times. I didn’t buy it. A bit too early for me.
I NEVER buy a TV guide except for Christmas and then sit and mark out what I want to watch.
So TV guides for Christmas, yes, no and which one?

I got my Christmas Radio Times in Waitrose yesterday. Sainsburys didn’t have any on Monday

madisonbridges · 08/12/2021 06:33

I got What's on TV. £1.50. I looked at the TV Times but it was £4.50 and the Radio Times was, gulp, £5.25. It's all the same TV and I can spend the £3.75 on a tin of quality street. Sorted!.

rrhuth · 08/12/2021 07:10

You can't put a price on tradition @madisonbridges Xmas Grin

I've been getting the Radio Times every year since the early 90s but oh my days £5.25 for a magazine! This year I'm thinking of reading it online for free via my library. I barely looked at last year's.

OhGiveUp · 08/12/2021 16:37

I look at the online TV guides for free.

dottiedodah · 08/12/2021 18:51

My Mum and In laws always got the RT at Christmas ,I follow suit .Just feels like one of the traditions! Jolly expensive now though .About a fiver last year!

evilharpy · 08/12/2021 19:07

Seems little point as we don't have live TV. I miss the excitement of the Christmas Radio Times though.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 09/12/2021 16:28

Just bought the Christmas radio times it's as thick as a book. Lovely moment in WHSmith where the woman behind me said ooo I need one too and we were laughing over the fact that we only buy it at Christmas it's a Christmas ritual!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 09/12/2021 16:55

Radio Times - it’s the only time I ever buy one.

Must get the highlighter out. There are a few things I fancy, including an MR James classic ghost story on Christmas Eve, IIRC.

the80sweregreat · 09/12/2021 20:41

I bought my special Christmas one today.
A quick flick through and it's all pretty dire and bbc one is very similar to last years offerings too

TokyoSushi · 09/12/2021 20:43

Radio Times, I don't even necessarily read it, I just like to have it!
