We usually wait until 1st December but it's a snow day here so debating putting it up.

We’ve done ours , I love them . My husband is currently at my sisters putting her outside lights up . The photo is of our main tree , we have a 4’ table tree in my husbands office and another 5’ twig arm tree for my Swarovski Christmas ornaments .

Put my household decor bits up during the last week, tree 1 up yesterday and the main tree will go up this week, might get the tree itself up tonight if feeling up to moving furniture around.

Wont put window lights up til the 1st, feel a bit mad doing it before hand and people witnessing my madness 😂

As it’s the first Sunday of Advent, the candelabra has been placed in our bay window and the first little string of lights is up as well. Today I will light the first advent candle.🕯

Here’s a photo to add to the hygge on the thread. Last night during the storm, with a little glass of sherry for (metaphorical) warmth.🍷🎄

Lovely to see these trees!

I've put my wreath on the door now the wind has settled, and lights around the front garden. We have thick snow here in my corner of Yorkshire so it all looks very festive!

Fifthtimelucky · 28/11/2021 16:14

I will get a real one so it's much too early. It will go up in a fortnight but a few decorations, including a couple of advent calendars, will come out on 1 December.

Tittyfilarious81 · 28/11/2021 16:19

Yes has been for 2 weeks Grin

hiredandsqueak · 28/11/2021 16:23

No I'm the only one on our cul de sac of five houses with no descirations up and two of the three at the top of the road are lit up as well. I'm always last up first down though although the other houses are even earlier this year. I think I'm thought of as a Grinch anyway because I only put up a tree where all the others decorate windows etc. The house opposite is a bloody eyesore but I'm sure dgs will marvel at the lights when he comes.

HelloMrBond · 28/11/2021 16:28

Ours will go up at Christmas.

balboacoffee · 28/11/2021 16:34

Mine normally goes up 2nd or 3rd week if November but was later this year, last Thursday. My daughters birthday is in December and she loves all the stuff up for her birthday. Makes it more cosy.

CPL593H · 28/11/2021 16:34

Door wreaths mid Dec, indoors 21/12 probably. It goes back to family customs and the fact I would have hated leaving a Christmassy house to go to work! Grin They do stay up until after New Year, though.

Whatever makes you happy, there's no right or wrong.

Tayegete · 28/11/2021 16:35

Normally make the kids wait till the first weekend in December but has been lovely putting it up with Xmas music and snow outside. Kids are outside playing in the snow.

Purplecatshopaholic · 28/11/2021 16:35

Put up one tree just a bit earlier. There was snow this morning so it seemed a good time. More decorations arriving this week and they will go up as they arrive. Need a bit of sparkle and general cheering up!

No because it's not even December yet. Surely you are supposed to keep the decorations up for longer after Christmas rather than put them up early November and take them down Boxing Day. Totally misses the point of Christmas otherwise.

Why do you assume people take them down earlier because they put them up earlier? Mine stay up well into January.
Almostmenopausal · 28/11/2021 17:31

I cannot for the life of me, understand why on earth people are putting their Christmas tree up in November?! It's NOT Christmas!

GoodnightGrandma · 28/11/2021 17:32

Outside lights up, but not indoor.
I’ve noticed lots have home up this weekend though.
I have a real tree do it won’t last long enough if I put it up too early.

I put them up early and leave them up. Christmas means something different to everyone, for me I just love it Grin

Because we want to?

Also can't see the point in posting on a thread about putting trees up if you don't approve of it! Just scroll past.
