@tempidentity what about a nice perfume? Or could you book one of those consultations that beauty counters in places like Boots and John Lewis (or Debenhams before it closed) do where they help you find the right products? I personally have found this helpful as I rarely wear make up and when I wanted new stuff I appreciated some expert advice, was happy with what I got and it suits my skin tone. Your daughter will be able to tell them what sort of look she wants to achieve and get the right products that way.

£12, RRP £20. Excellent present option for junior school aged children. It has absolutely everything in it, my son and husband read it together most days.

Those of you looking for lava lamps, I looked in RL at the Dunelm £10 rocket shaped rainbow one today, I wasn't that happy about the stability as it's for a 8 year olds room so decided to try and one that feels more stable.

@Froppysue if it helps DD is almost 16 and gets xxs in Bo+Tee. She is quite small height wise and teeny waist. She wears xs in Gymshark and same as your DD has a slight waist gap in their leggings and shorts. They fit lovely on her enviably toned bum (yes I'm jealous of it!!! )

Up to 60% off Joules. Most items are only 20% off but lots of nice things, including some very pretty non standard glassware (someone was after gin glasses). I am having a rough day either, just received an email informing me that my (huge) Ocado delivery is going to be delayed by “1-2-3 hours” (charming) and , what’s more worrying - they “will perfectly understand and comply if I wished to cancel my order now.” Never had such communication from them before and can already sense half of it will be missing😡 (fridge empty so what shall we eat til 6-7-8-9-who knows what pm?) So, as my orders keep being oos (UO) or canceled ( Esprit, World of Books) or lost (Boots) it looks I still have presents to buy. I am struggling to think of a suitable present for DD’s music teacher who is moving so it’s got to be also a parting, not only Xmas gift. She is probably in early 30. nice but not much else to go on. What would be a nice, elegant but safe present?

Have you tried Not On The High Street? The Black Friday sale has some nice jewellery in for £5-7 that looks more expensive (obviously RRP was higher). The seller I've just ordered loads from is called J&S jewellery and they also did free delivery which not all sellers do. If you spend over £50 then SUPER15 takes off another 15%.

I also had an email from Philip Jones to say they have 60% off for Black Friday. Their stuff has previously arrived next day and with nice gift packaging.

Does JL stuff often arrived so badly packaged? Glitch codes aside, I'd be interested to know. Even the £83 perfume set I bought was just slung in a plastic postal bag with no extra packaging and the chocolates were the same, meaning they were bashed (and seals broken). I need to order more from JL but I'm reluctant if this is typical.

Oh gosh. My glitch stuff arrived in an excessive amount of packaging, every item bubble wrapped and in its own separate box…

I've had a peppa pig boxed set arrived in a mailing bag before from JL. Box smashed to smithereens. They refunded fully though.

I took advantage of the Lindor 2 balls for £12.95 on Amazon but they’ve only sent 1 ball. Have called Amazon and have to say their customer service is excellent. I don’t think I’ve ever had to call them about an issue before. They are sending me another order asap

the prices are only coming up in US dollars for me - was it the same for you?

It all went a bit weird with prices in dollars before check out but at actual check out it was in pounds

And it arrived less than 24 hours from ordering so definitely comes from the UK
