Thanks @squishmycherry for the title. A massage gin sounds interesting !

@tempidentity hiya, I've been in a similar situation with a very close friend. Has your daughter chosen a name that she wishes to use going forwards? Something personalised if she has even as simple as a nice diary and pencil case with her new initial. A Christmas stocking with what you would normally pop in and then some nice perfume or lipglosses and a cute phone case
I also agree with the kimono/wrap idea, how about a more feminine style Oddie ( or a knock off )
It depends on your budget too but epilators and similar hair removal items are popular as are pamper kits.
It's about what you would buy a daughter who is tech savvy and full of common sense.
Good luck on the journey sending hugs to you and your daughter

sycamorescrumptious · 25/11/2021 14:58

@Notlongnow1 never heard of kapla before but looks great!

Thank you for all the awkward 6yo ideas, Will be spending this evening browsing them all!

Essexmate · 25/11/2021 15:00

Can someone please help me out with these Amazon devices. I literally just want one I can read books on, surfing Internet might be handy but not absolutely necessary. The fire 7 that’s on offer at the moment will that be suitable? We already have a kids kindle for our daughter but she also uses my iPad (usually when hers is being slow!) hence the need for one myself!

tempidentity · 25/11/2021 15:00
@tempidentity I'd probably go with most gifts relating hobbies and interests then a voucher for womens clothes or make up. I figure if they're just transitioning then it might be difficult to figure out what their taste is and what would suit them.
I think this is my issue. What if what I buy is not her taste which hasn't yet really been developed either.
Also might raise too many questions opening presents with all the family around.

Really worth checking tiktok shopping, they do deals with brands and get stuff a lot cheaper just saw a polaroid camera with film for £55 vm.tiktok.com/ZM8Gv2fQ2/

It's all official and verified, really worth checking out!

@ChristmasLightsAndSparkles

What about a knitting journal for your knitter? I bought the sewing one for a family member a couple of years ago and it went down well. There's 25% off at the moment using the code BLACKFRIDAY too.

In terms of yarn bowls, yes to the spiral rather than holes (for me, anyway) - I like to have a way to get it out if necessary (I crochet rather than knit).

Stitch markers are always useful, and can be really quite fancy (Etsy are usually good for prettier ones) or simple plastic or metal ones - I use this type and this type.

A good bag like the one mentioned earlier is great, but I also like smaller bags for 'project bags' (as I tend to have more than one on the go at a time) - even something as simple as these, although again you'll get much prettier ones on Etsy. Or you could put your own designs on if you're crafty at all.

Dolphintrainer · 25/11/2021 15:03

Bargain stocking filler for anyone that uses gel nail varnish (that has to set under a UV lamp) - Sensationail in espresso brown is only £3.23 on Amazon. Never seen these that cheap.

@mrscherrybuncake Thank you for your kind words.
I feel that this is a bit of a minefield this year until she has told all the family and begun to develop her own released female taste in things.
Interest has in appearance and clothes has been firmly supressed in the past - presumably due to the body dysmorphia and not wanting to attract any attention

psuedocream3 · 25/11/2021 15:04

@tempidentity Could you maybe go for a gender neutral gift, like gift cards for restaurants like wagamamas, or itunes vouchers? Or food gifts?

Froppysue · 25/11/2021 15:05

@Allmyarseandpeggymartin

@pseudocream3 I wish I could but eating out is a minefield with multiple food allergies.
We are talking serious computer geek - who is a programmer and spends most of the time in front of a screen.

@Mumto3thatsme thanks for the heads up I just got some for £21

Did the snuddie arrive?

SpamIAm · 25/11/2021 15:32

@Essexmate If it's just for reading then a Kindle is better. This is an e-reader with electronic paper, easy on the eyes. Pretty much useless for browsing the internet.

The Kindle Fire is a tablet, like an iPad. It's not very eye-friendly to be reading from a backlit screen for extended periods of time, although certainly people do. Better for the internet, using apps etc but wouldn't be my choice for reading.

DockOTheBay · 25/11/2021 15:33

@Billyandemily

I'm looking for a yoto mini if anyone knows any discounts thankyou
@Billyandemily I can send you a referral code if that would help? I think you get 10% off
LizMay29 · 25/11/2021 15:40

Trust my son to want a discontinued toy for Christmas. I'm looking for PJ masks kickback motorcycles if anyone has come across them? Also open to buying second hand. There seems to be one left in the clearance section of Argos, East Ham in case anyone is planning to go there and would consider posting?!

On the lookout for a Bat tech Batcave, the giant transforming thing that's currently on at £120...hoping for some sort of discount tomorrow! It's the only thing my son has consistently asked for so would like to get it for him.
