We are having a nice free range Chicken. We have gone off Turkey so we did this last year and it was great. Tried Goose the year before but the smell of it cooking made me feel Ill. (I know now that it was because I was PG!)

cluckiemama · 15/12/2007 13:39

We never have turkey, I've never actually cooked a turkey! We're going to have lamb and i'll probably do yorkshire puddings with it because kids love them! How un-traditional

BananaPudding · 15/12/2007 13:42

We are doing a big Chinese dinner. Every year we choose a different ethnicity for Christmas dinner; last year was Mexican. We get bored easily

ggirlsbells · 15/12/2007 13:42

we never have turkey either

huge rib of beef here instead mmmmmmmmmm

SantaBeClausImWorthIt · 15/12/2007 13:44

We never have turkey. Never had it as a child, so don't really associate it with Christmas. This year we're having roast fillet of beef with shallots and mushrooms.

LunarSea · 15/12/2007 13:46

We would do goose if we were at home - but it will probaby end up being turkey this year as we're away and therefore not responsible for the catering.

Ineedaholiday · 15/12/2007 13:52

we are having a chinese buffet this year and having a big get together with family on boxing day with a big pot of chilli. mmmmmmmh

ChopsterRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 15/12/2007 13:54

don't like turkey, I'll be doing a free range chicken too.

OhGiveUsAPruniPudding · 15/12/2007 13:55

No way - we usually have beef
Turkey isn't anyone's favourite meat, is it?

smartiejake · 15/12/2007 14:00

We always have chicken. The dds prefer it.

TwinklyfLightAttendant · 15/12/2007 14:08

Beans on otast if my usual cooking thing comes off - pigeon didn't work, rabbit didn't work.
I do it wrong every time
Beans are so, well, reliable in a crisis...

Lizzylou · 15/12/2007 14:11

We are having a Capon this year, last year we had one of those "Bird within a bird within a bird etc" thingies which kept us fed well into February!
I wanted Beef but as my Mom likes her beef incinerated and DH and I like it rare, it was causing too many problems!

WhenScoobyGotStuckUpTheChimney · 15/12/2007 14:12

don't like Turkey here either, we will probably have Lamb

preggersagain · 15/12/2007 14:13

chicken here too- kids not fussed, dh not too keen on turkey because of childhood memories, so this year i shall do a chicken and not feel guilty about the ammount that is left over. i had turkey curry last week with the remains of last years bird

sophy · 15/12/2007 14:15

We are having a hot mustard and brown sugar glazed roast organic ham with spiced figs.

ByTheSea · 15/12/2007 14:26

We usually have goose, but this year are having a bone-in beef rib joint. On boxing day, we are having a glazed ham.

Ineedacleaner · 15/12/2007 14:55

Myrrhcy · 15/12/2007 14:58

EzrasMummy · 15/12/2007 15:03

OverMyDeadStuffedTurkey · 15/12/2007 15:17

I'm having pheasant today at a friend's house! looking forward to it...

Christmas family meal will be a three bird roast, on the 22nd dec, not sure if turkey is involved as others are in charge.

On christmas day it will be just DS and myself, so we've made a list of our favourite foods and are having them all. Turkey doesn't feature, but the list includes yorkshire puds, redcurrant jelly, broccoli, smoked salmon, salami, pizza, marshmallows and chocolate

MummyDarlingSausage · 15/12/2007 15:39

A rib of beef and pork as I love beef and want crackling aswell!

ivykaty44 · 15/12/2007 15:40
