Can't bear turkey so I always insist on goose or beef. This year it's goose - and it keeps me in goose fat for the year for potatoes! However, at 7 1/2 months pg I shan't be cooking it this year, my Ma will be (just hope it fits in my new oven).

Blandmum · 15/12/2007 20:50

Turkey, but stuffed with duck, chicken and stuffing.

Turkey alone is too bland IMHO

sophierosie · 15/12/2007 20:55

Am doing beef wellington for us... yum yum

unknownrebelbang · 16/12/2007 17:20

Not sure yet.

MerryPIFFLEmas · 16/12/2007 17:36

Roast Beef here
I loathe turkey only condone it if cooking for more than 12 people

We're on a sort of Italian themed xmas this year.

PrincessSnowLife · 16/12/2007 17:40

we're cooking a big bosnian 'sač' (sort of like a hotpot) outdoors on an open fire IN THE SNOW!!! With lamb or young beef and all the veg. Can you tell I'm excited?!

PrincessSnowLife · 16/12/2007 17:44

lol
MN doesn't do special characters then!

SibbleTheRedNosedPossum · 16/12/2007 17:50

beef, thought about duck but friend has organic beef farm so bought some of his. can't wait.

Oblomov · 16/12/2007 17:53

Dh refuses. It was always dry putrid stuff from his childhood.
Its not my fave either.
We will have roast lamb.
Maybe a bit of duck to start.

needmorecoffee · 16/12/2007 17:53

we don't have turkey but then we are vegetarian. Not bothering on crimbo day either cos ma and sister are coming boxing day and i'm buggered if I'm doing 2 roast meals.

YuleLoveHekateAtSolstice · 16/12/2007 17:54

Me. I'm doing goose. I'm also doing a pork joint and a steak and ale pie!!

mozzybearandwean · 16/12/2007 18:30

Beef Lasagne for DH and DS. Veg Lasagne for me. Will have ready the night before so can just sling them in the oven. Minimal washing up.

We're having rib of beef.
I've never understood the fuss about turkey. Plus there's only three of us on the big day itself.
And rare beef sandwiches definitely trump turkey ones.

We'll do a ham as well for The Descent of The In Laws (imagine sinister music here) on Boxing Day.

Us - seafood - prawns, fish, etc yum!

But it is looking like being 30 degrees celsius at least with afternoon storms - not really the weather for hot chrissy dinner.
