Very 'Ungrown up' gifts?

Love this section of MN. Xmas Smile Reading a lot of the threads, everyone is asking for (Apart from Lego!) very 'grown up' presents/present ideas. Like candles, face cream, scarfs, etc. Am I the only one with a very different type of gift? I'm 47 YO and I'm getting, amongst other things, Sims 4 expansions, The Simpsons lounge pants, A Harley Quinn graphic novel...Are any of you out there getting anything 'ungrown up?' Like any computer games for example?
Just curious really. Xmas Smile

@Pickles89 I will also be getting a couple of small Playmobil sets. To add to my collection so I can do more scenes to post on here! Grin

YouHaveNoAuthorityHereJackie · 14/11/2021 21:46

@Haudyourwheesht my toddler dd has those figures and it’s so funny watching her hobbling around saying ooooo Janet Grin we have the Bluey CD in the car and it’s fantastic.

Stompythedinosaur · 14/11/2021 21:47

I am! I am getting a longsword as I have been taking historical swordfighting lessons.

TuftyMarmoset · 14/11/2021 21:48

I bought myself the sims 4 base game and a couple of expansions during lockdown. It’s not as good as my beloved sims 2 so I’m not bothering with the rest!

I got DP Pokemon pyjamas last year. I’ve asked for a snuddie for myself but not holding out hope as it sounds like they’re tricky to get hold of.

I very nearly bought myself some Sylvanian families babies dressed as vegetables when I was in the Entertainer buying presents for actual children. I probably would have done if they weren’t £20!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 14/11/2021 21:53

not currently but a few years back I convinced DH & myself that our boys would love the Lego Death Star as a joint gift.
They did. For about 40 mins🤣

I ended up building it by myself for the next 6 days (was 5m pg so needed lots of breaks!) and so as it turned out it was one of the best presents I've ever got!🤣

I spent a few weeks in the spring sorting all the pieces (replaced all but 6 of what was missing out of over 3000 pieces) and I have plans to rebuild it sometime next year.
I'm gonna buy some Lego glue so it won't fall apart easily.

I really want the Taj Mahal with the extra LED back-lighting.

QueenSue · 14/11/2021 21:55

I want these beautifully illustrated Harry Potter books.

Rockhopper81 · 14/11/2021 22:04

@Pickles89 - I play Sims 4 because it's the only one that will run on my laptop!

Also, Lego and glue should never mix @ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba - you've seen 'The Lego Movie', right?! 😆😉

CheshireChat · 14/11/2021 22:04

Well, I previously asked for the ring fit as a present as it's bloody expensive. I'm also considering inline rollers, but not sure I'd use them enough.

tedsletterofthelaw · 14/11/2021 22:17

Pokemon for Nintendo Switch Grin

TheChosenTwo · 14/11/2021 22:21

@WakeUpLockie I’m buying this for dd2 but really for myself Grin
I wouldn’t display it anywhere in the house but she’d put it in her bedroom, it looks awesome 😂
Other than that, sorry to say I’m quite boring and like candles and grown up stuff really!

TheChosenTwo · 14/11/2021 22:23

@QueenSue I bought this for dd2 last year and this year they’ve brought out the second one so I’ll get her that this year in her stocking.
I haven’t read or watched any HP, all my 3dc are mad about it but the book is absolutely lovely, a real keepsake.

TuftyMarmoset · 14/11/2021 22:23

DP just came up to me and thanked me for joining him at his hobby today and reiterated that he wants to support me to have more hobbies as well. I think he meant the gym but I asked him to get me the Sylvanian veggie babies 😆

MintyCedric · 14/11/2021 23:10

Nothing on the present list although I'm thinking about it now!

We recently cleared my parent's loft and I've retrieved my Weebles, Playmobil, and best of all, my Britain's Farm set...I have just added a 1:32 Land Rover to my wishlist Grin.

rrhuth · 14/11/2021 23:16

I'm getting a board game and an ice-cream maker

Scout2016 · 14/11/2021 23:16

Not been asked for what I want this year but I think Brian and Wendy Froud's Trolls book with feature.
Last year I got a pop up Nightmare Before Christmas advent calendar and T shirt. Have several Labyrinth ones already.

IncyWinceySpiderWillies · 14/11/2021 23:24

@WakeUpLockie

DH and I just treated ourselves to the Lego Home Alone house Grin
😱

I did not know this existed

IncyWinceySpiderWillies · 14/11/2021 23:26

I want the Ninjago city gardens. It won’t be happening though

Tiredpigeon · 14/11/2021 23:29

I collect Lego Architecture but I really want the Sesame Street sets!

DoofusRick · 14/11/2021 23:31

Is a discworld jigsaw ungrown up?

EssexLioness · 14/11/2021 23:33

Considering asking for Rainbow Brite t shirt or socks from TruffleShuffle. I also ‘collect’ children’s picture books, no kids of my own I just love them. So always have a wish list on Amazon for those which I sometimes get one or two of in my stocking

Jumpingintochristmas · 14/11/2021 23:41

I love bright silly socks, I’m so corporate day to day DD calls them my mummy’s day off socks Xmas Blush. This year’s requests include Care Bears and Zippy from Rainbow!

TheSharpertheJuice · 14/11/2021 23:43

Animal Crossing DLC and moomin print socks fit this category right? DH thinks I’m crackers Grin

haba · 14/11/2021 23:58

Oh,where are the moomin socks from please? I saw the Playmobil enterprise today, and have had to keep it secret from DD, as it's £450 Sad

liliainterfrutices · 15/11/2021 00:11

I am quite likely to ask for a Chalet School book or an Antonia Forest.

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 15/11/2021 00:11

My friend and I have decided to buy and wrap our own gifts. We will then swap labels, drink wine and open the presents we have bought and wrapped for ourselves. She is thinking of an Ottolenghi cook book. I have bought a vintage 1960's Chad Valley panda.
