Please help me find an impossibly tiny box

I am looking for probably the teeniest tiniest box in the world. I have purchased a extreme micro crochet animal for my DD 14 and I need a box to put him in. He’s so small, just about a cm in length.
I’m going to wrap him in a bigger box, then a bigger one, then a bigger one, with “nope, not yet” on every layer until she gets to the impossibly tiny centre.

My daughter was given a walnut shell "cradle" for a tiny crochet doll when she was small. So I'd suggest a walnut shell or similar if you can get one / keep it intact while opening it!

Thank you so much everyone for all of your help, you have been amazing.

I will definitely take a good look through these fantastic ideas. I think I will go with a locket as then she has two presents in one and you've all given some great examples.

Oh wow I’m stealing this idea!

AliceMcK · 09/11/2021 14:01

What about butting it in a nice thimble before putting it in a small box?

UniBallEye · 09/11/2021 14:04

Some of those lockets are amazing!
The little dog I bought is slightly bigger and it won't fit into them though
My dd would LOVE a poison ring!!
This thread is dangerous

steppemum · 09/11/2021 14:06

@Whitney168

Love this one too.
my gothy daughter would love that one.

But I think she'd also love the glass one, so you could see him.

Anotherbrokenairer · 09/11/2021 14:11

Empty tic tac box

Sn0tnose · 09/11/2021 14:12

If you’re in the market for gothic type lockets, have a look at SilverfireUK.co.uk

Disclaimer- I’ve not bought anything from the personally so I can’t vouch for either quality or customer service, but it’s a brand I’m vaguely aware of. EMP and Sourpuss (US & EU site) also do alternative jewellery. Can recommend the goods from both companies although EMP will stalk you by email until the end of time!

Binglebong · 09/11/2021 14:27

I love the poison ring! And very goth - I imagine it would work very well, although you would need to know ring size.

Spacerader · 09/11/2021 14:30

How about one of those pearl holder necklaces.

You can get them cheap with usually a fake pearl to open but you could just use the necklace and pop it in to a jellery box

Oh that's so sweet, just like Thumbelina.

More great ideas, you lot are super!

Redkatagain · 09/11/2021 14:59

Matchbox spray painted?

Onlyabean · 09/11/2021 15:12

I’ve ordered a vintage style silver locket from Etsy and the back is going to be engraved with the childhood song that she still remembers when she is not being all grown up and angry, it will say:
“DD name, you are my sunshine.”

UniBallEye · 09/11/2021 15:21

Oh that is so sweet OP! I hope she loves it!
I'm considering one of the clear glass lockets for dd's little dog, but I can't make up my mind if she'd like it on show or not?

UniBallEye · 09/11/2021 15:22

Did you order the one with the Onxy? That was gorgeous but the dog I ordered is 1" x 2" and it's too big for most of the pretty ones..

Onlyabean · 09/11/2021 15:33

@UniBallEye I ordered one which was just silver and like a cage where you can see a peek of him through. As your little dog is bigger he might be better in a box. If he's like her little dog that you lost, your daughter is going to love him. What a sweet idea.

UniBallEye · 09/11/2021 15:56

thanks @Onlyabean the dog is very like our dog that passed away this year. Its a tiny Welsh Terrier and the micro crochet is impossibly cute! There may be tears when dd see it. I'm so glad you posted about this today.

I hope your dd loves hers

FreezerBird · 10/11/2021 12:41

I love this thread. I have no-one in my life who would like a micro-crochet animal, or a locket, but that hasn't stopped me spending a lot of time on Etsy looking at both.

UniBallEye · 10/11/2021 16:33

@FreezerBird I suspect I will love our micro-dog the most in our house.....!! I could be tempted to buy LOADS of them for myself, but bills need to be paid...

1WildFlower · 11/11/2021 22:27

What about a ring box? You could ask to buy one from a jeweller?
