I’m absolutely gutted…. For approx 5/6yrs (the first time I saw it) I fell in love with the advent stable, every year I would say to DH I’m 100% getting it this year it was a long standing joke between us. I would stop myself because of the price and not really being able to afford it. We have been left an inheritance and so finally I can buy one guilt free and it’s been bloody discontinued!!! I only looked 2/3wks ago. I’ve looked every year and can’t find anything like it. I don’t know weather to laugh or cry….

Well, I bid on the one on ebay went to £91.04 and I’ve been outbid. I have the money to keep going but I can’t bring myself too. I’m gutted

Is it discontinued. Oh no! I say the same every year too and have just had a pay rise so was going to buy it. Bugger!

Is it worth ringing Lakeland head office and seeing if there's one knocking around somewhere "out the back"? There might be one lurking somewhere. They're a very helpful company.

Or creating something similar yourself with a set of nativity figures and a ready made advent calendar with boxes/drawers? There seem to be loads on the market now - you could even get an old beauty advent calendar from ebay (which have big drawers and look lovely - eg Liberty) and put your own figures in?

We've got the Lakeland one although my children have played so thoroughly with the figures we're down a sheep or two, and have a three-legged camel, and it is lovely, but I can see equally lovely nativity sets online that you could use to fit the bill.

I understand that! I had to work very hard on DH the year we bought ours, as he really didn't get why we needed to spend so much, when we're not remotely religious.

No, we’re not religious at all it’s just absolutely beautiful and I appreciate the nativity.

I don't know if this was planned. The year I bought mine, one of the pieces arrived damaged, and they happily sent me a single replacement. When I realised last year that we'd lost a couple of pieces, I contacted them to see if I could get them separately, happy to buy them, and they no longer had any spares.

When I looked around 3/4wks ago it was still available and then it’s gone.

DH happened to ask in our local store and they said they didn’t know of anywhere with one lurking around but so many people had been asking.

Gumtree

I am guessing the gumtree one is the same as the facebook marketplace one as they both have the same damage, unless there are a lot of broken crooks and legs!

Brighton is around 2.5hrs from me but I might be able to persuade DH to make the drive . Another one has popped up on ebay now but that one is damaged as well. The original new one on ebay is £106 now and I’m seriously stopping myself from increasing my bid!

We have also phoned and nothing so far. It was literally 3/4wks ago I sent DH the annual wouldn’t that look lovely in our house picture, I’m kicking myself for not ordering then.

Okay…. I spoke to Lakeland via Twitter and they checked the stores that have stock for me and DH is en route to collect one for me now
