Curious really. I have two boys 4 and nearly 2yo. Every single thing is orientated towards them for Christmas which is of course absolutely right. But. This is the first year in ~5 years I haven't had to restrict drinking, eating, had god awful sleep due to being pregnant, breastfeeding or having a tiny baby cosleeping in bed with me.that or being just so exhausted I go to bed at the same time as them 😂 not complaining as I know I am very fortunate, but I feel its time for me to get a break and bit of ME back.

So. I'm adamant that this year when the kids are asleep, out will come my treats. So far... . Drum roll. I have brought myself a box of m&s biscuits, some m&s truffles and some green and blacks chocolate. I also have the Holland and barret christmas beauty box that was in the clearance, from the bargain thread a while back. I've brought DH uno flip and Blokus for us to play together too like the old days! Not alot in terms of glamour perhaps but I'm SO excited none the less. I love my kids to death but I'm really looking forward to getting some time to enjoy grown up bits.

Anyone else want to share?

A posh box of chocolates and an Indiana Jones movie - one of the old ones. And nice glass of something fizzy.
Oooooh or an Agatha Christie adaptation - is there a new one this year? Im off to google.

For the work Christmas party I will treat myself to a nice new dress, a blow dry and a MAC make over. I tell myself that the makeover doesn’t really cost anything as you get to spend the cost on products and I always need more make up Grin

For the last 3 years I haven’t been able to have brie (pregnant and baby with CMPA) but now I will be able to have a bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich as long as the bread is soya free.

My two year old still cosleeps and thanks to what feels like a million back to back illnesses she still wakes and feeds many times a night.

Mackmama · 29/10/2021 20:44

I like M&S Christmas hand soap, and a nice festive smelling candle :)

MissyB1 · 29/10/2021 21:04

An M&S Christmas candle.
Those pre mixed snowball drinks.
Box of rose and violet chocolates.
A new book.

herecomesthsun · 29/10/2021 21:06

Bottle of Merlyn liqueur

Might get an M and S advent calendar. For me Grin

Daisy829 · 29/10/2021 21:09

Champagne
I always buy a couple of nice bottles for xmas.

TicTacHoh · 29/10/2021 21:20

A night of champagne and M&S (overpriced) oven party foods and a Christmas film

MrsMiddleMother · 29/10/2021 21:23

A fancy (ish) bath oil and body wash

Snowdropsandbluebells · 29/10/2021 21:23

I have nothing yet but I am 100 percent treating myself this year. Little things that I will wrap for myself an unwrap by myself Grin

Absolutely everything is about dh the home and kids.

Duxiejhrhrvjz · 29/10/2021 21:27

On Christmas morning once the children have opened presents and are happily playing, I used to cook a nice breakfast and have some Buck’s Fizz, Ex-DH and I would always eat it on the kitchen floor not at the table hiding from the children. Half an hour of just us time revelling in what a good job we did of Christmas morning yet again Grin

Holothane · 29/10/2021 21:45

Twiglets and cheeselets doesn’t sound much but I love them and don’t have very often.

Arren12 · 29/10/2021 21:49

Mulled wine and lots of it. A very nice Xmas candle and lots of chocolate.

VikingLady · 29/10/2021 22:09

Very posh chocolates - the sort you choose individually in the shop, which makes me feel like Poirot looking forward to his classy Christmas Grin

Grown up drinks for when the kids are in bed - Advocaat because it reminds me of being young (snowballs) plus it's gentle on my elderly tummy

Buy expensive new pyjamas for lounging around

A stack of good books. That have no pictures in and lots of long words and some rude bits.

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 29/10/2021 22:28

@VikingLady I love that RE books 😂

I bought myself a traditional advent calendar for nostalgic reasons.

I might treat myself to something nearer Christmas. I dont get many gifts, (usually a few small or token gifts), so would like to treat myself. I would quite like an inexpensive coffee machine. It depends how my finances are. And whether I can find a good deal.

beigebrownblue · 29/10/2021 22:48

Christmas? What's that?

dizzygirl1 · 29/10/2021 22:48

I'm open to ideas, 2nd Christmas separated but this year the kids are off Christmas afternoon until the day after boxing day, no friends and family hours away. So I need to think of something nice for me to do alone.
Maybe a book, some nice chocolates and..... nope no idea

Stompythedinosaur · 29/10/2021 23:05

I like a christmas candle. I've just ordered the St Eval Inspiritus one. I'll also get some dark chocs (which the dc don't like so are all for me) and a bottle of baileys. And I have two advent calendars, which is definitely an indulgence - a picture one that reminds me of my childhood and a one with a daily puzzle on.

I do a huge amount for my dc at christmas, bit it is definitely a time for the whole family.

hopeishere · 29/10/2021 23:55

One year I got DH to get me Jo Malone bath oil and had a lovely bath on Christmas Day.

BiLuminous · 30/10/2021 00:13

I dont have any family or a partner so I buy myself a gift, same as on my birthday. I didn't last year but this year I think I'll get a few books, some Lush bubble bars and some fancy chocolate.

AnotherMansCause · 30/10/2021 03:05

I'm vegan (went vegan for ethical reasons but it's done wonders for my migraines so I'm never going back!) I'm also intolerant to wheat, caffeine, artificial sweeteners, & I'm a total lightweight due to decades of not drinking much due to the migraines. So...
Nice fizzy drinks - sweetened only with sugar & flavoured only with fruit, botanicals etc.
Something luxurious for a pudding. Either bought or homemade in advance, I'll spend a bit more on ingredients so I've got something slightly indulgent when DH & DD are scoffing mince pies.
Really good fruit & vegetables. Obviously, I eat a lot of them... I don't (like to & can't) eat most prepared vegan convenience foods. I'm lucky that I actually like my vegetables. Fresh cooked chestnuts are a winter treat.

A beautiful Wentworth wooden Christmas jigsaw puzzle to do in the run up to the day itself. My problem is choosing just one from the numerous available options. To be completed whilst drinking Asti [ I know, I know but that's my guilty secret - I'm not a drinker and don't like alcohol of the grown up variety!]
