If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

I’m really not sure about instore mystic but I think it might be the whole transaction must be in points or cash not a mix. Bit rubbish really.

As is them not including dyson in any discounts or offers including student discount and points offers.

MotherOfGodHoulYerWhisht · 28/10/2021 23:27

The other thing is ideas for my little boy. We always struggle but with two of us about we bought things we could do with him. He is eight but very young. Severely autistic with extra chromosomes and stuff going on. Basically doesn't play with anything really, cannot be left alone for even a second. Over the years we have done all the comfort stuff, and he has sensory stuff coming out of his ears. We did buy him a couple of switch games last year which he liked with help and strangely enough he likes watching people make circuits so may see if I can get a more advanced kit. Other than that he is a tough one to buy for. Always has been and then others want ideas too

@bigarse1, how about a marble run? My 4yoDN loves his, and loves it even more when his (teenage) big cousins get involved. He likes watching them building the more complicated configurations. I suspect they secretly love it too as they actually... wait for it... put their phones down Shock Sorry for rubbish link but it’s something like this

For anyone looking at their WHSmith orders, this might help:

www.whsmith.co.uk/track-your-order/

You put in the order number, then date of order and email used, it will bring up your whole order. The information on mine still says processing, although they have shipped books that do say not shipped on them.

However, it did remind me that one of my books is a pre-order so I shouldn’t expect it until early November. I believe the other one arrives tomorrow, so as long as it does, and excluding the pre-order, everything will have arrived. So don’t lose faith, yet. Smile

How long so they keep the drinks warm?
@CharlieWeasley Not to worry, thank you for checking,

Does anyone have a sports direct code?
There's one posted above that I didn't need :)

Thanks everyone for the codes - ds and dh football tops ordered ✅

MysticCT · 28/10/2021 23:38

@RJnomore1 Thanks anyway, it's annoying but I'll have to do what you suggested. I'll still be making a saving.
I didn't realise they excluded certain things from offers but I suppose they don't want to give too much away.

Scout2016 · 28/10/2021 23:45

My last Smith's order (from Monday) says processing on the tracker and an email from customer support yesterday said the same, but the money has gone out. Then today someone via Facebook / messenger has said the computer has messed up and they will do a refund.
I did ask why they can't just process the order I have paid for as I still want it, but The Compter Says No apparently, and the human can't override the glitch to put the order through.
No refund email yet. I paid by PayPal who are quick to email, even if Smiths aren't.

sittingonacornflake · 29/10/2021 00:00

Does anybody have a student beans discount code they would be willing to share for premier inn at home please?

Also has anyone spotted any bargainous neals yard bubble bath online anywhere?

Shiloh139 · 29/10/2021 00:05

@duckduckswan OnBuy is a place that gives a home to lots of different sellers, many of whom are selling genuine goods but others aren't. I recently bought an Emma mattress via OnBuy but the seller was the Emma German site so I felt confident going ahead and the mattress has been great. Check out the seller you're considering - TrustPilot is a good site for checking out companies you're unsure of.

Silversilverstreet · 29/10/2021 00:51

@myheartskippedabeat, I wondered about WHSmith. When I went there last week - it’s quite a big store in the town centre - I looked around for help, but the only assistant I could see was on the till. I asked him where I should go to collect my order. He said to go upstairs and he’d be there soon.

I went upstairs where there were a few customers browsing but apparently no staff at all on that floor until he came a few minutes later. When he handed over my order I asked if he was the only staff member in the store and he didn’t answer.

However, when I went downstairs there were two young men chatting behind the till. When he came back they moved away. I got the impression that he was the only one doing any work! He gave good customer service but I got the impression that, perhaps, the place was both understaffed and poorly managed.

Puffalicious · 29/10/2021 01:34

Thanks for the Fortnite tips.

WHSmith order started it's dribbling in - vinyl and one book today. Lots more to go...

Arthien · 29/10/2021 03:14

My second bargain map from WHSmiths arrived yesterday, despite my fears! I was looking at paying £14.99 each full price and I ended up paying just over a tenner for both!

sorryiasked · 29/10/2021 05:51

Amazon have these oversized oodie things with a 20% off voucher so £27.99 at checkout. Haven't bought them myself, but good reviews.

I went shopping yesterday and noticed that in the entertainer, they had loads of Christmas crafts reduced to half price (Christmas stampers and felt kits etc).

DockOTheBay · 29/10/2021 06:51

@myheartskippedabeat

Aren't WH Smith's in trouble?

www.thegrocer.co.uk/finance/city-news-wh-smith-recovery-set-back-by-profit-warning/659517.article

I know when Laura Ashley went bust lots of people ordered stuff that never came and some people were charged.

I'd say, if you are buying use a credit card to protect yourself.

Incidentally went to Lincoln to meet a friend and their WH Smith is now a clearance shop I got some lovely bits

Wouldn't be surprised at all of WH Smith are struggling. Their main product is books, and games, which people can get far more easily and usually much cheaper from Amazon. Their stationery is also a lot more expensive than other places and its easy to get hold of online, in supermarkets etc. Plus with more and more people using email and computers, who buys pens regularly any more?
HKV76 · 29/10/2021 06:52

@sittingonacornflake I’ll PM you :)

Christmasmcchristmasface · 29/10/2021 06:57

I would like to thank @cornishgirl59 who originally posted the WH Smith codes wAy back on thread 12!

I ended up placing 8 orders all have arrived successfully just waiting on Prof Noel Fitzpatricks new kids book due tomorrow (pre release) and then Gangsta Granny 2 in mid November

I managed to vastly reduce my list with this deal which had followed hot on the heels of the brilliant F Bags and Hit Diamonds!

I’ve been on these threads since before we were upset over cookie jars and anxiously awaiting our pumpkin patch orders from NZ but don’t think I’ve ever been this far ahead - thank you all!!

air force1

@Ruralretreating, thank you. Xmas Smile

Egg is OK, soya isn't great, but can be dealt with as it's the school holidays!

I saw the mince pie brownie slices in Sainsbury's. DD doesn't like dried fruit, so wouldn't eat them. Annoyingly they did a similar thing last year that was just chocolate, which they loved. I'm going to a bigger store for the toy sale next month, so I'll see what they have in stock. Our store is essentially a glorified Local (called the misnomer of a superstore!) so is rubbish for breadth of stock.

sittingonacornflake · 29/10/2021 07:04

@HKV76 thank you ever so much, really appreciate that

NoWordForFluffy · 29/10/2021 07:08

@bigarse1, we get all of our Christmas chocolate from Moo Free as it's dairy, gluten and soya free (other than coins which I got from Tesco).

I hadn't seen the dairy free Milky Way either...interesting!

RE: TESCO £20 SWITCH GAME DEAL
Unfortunately you have to buy the new OLED Nintendo Switch to qualify for the offer.

Funnily enough I picked him up a marble run a little while ago in a charity shop and he loves watching it so you are along the right lines. To be honest sometimes it feels like we are just buying so he has something to open and so he isn't left out but it all just ends up in a tower in a cupboard!

Will have a look as three of us are dairy free so would be good to get a heap of chocolate bought 😀
