If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

Thank you everyone for the animal onesie suggestions - unfortunately it does need to be a bear like / fluffy light brown with ears ( basically he has some bear feet slippers - he’s currently wearing his JL Sherpa that’s two sizes too small - that he wants to match. He has SEN so is quite literal and I’ve learnt the hard way that things have to be exact!). But many thanks for trying to help ( cursing JL for passing out the Sherpa onesies for kids this year Grin)

I’ve tried putting this in the promo box on my order and it won’t work? Is it a one use code?
Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 29/10/2021 08:24

Sorry @Spamhead241 I didn't think it was a one use code.

My ex works for WHSmith (warehouse, not retail) and says most of their revenue comes from travel - airports, train stations, service stations, hospitals etc. They may have suffered in this respect due to covid = less travel, but that is back on the up now and they shouldn’t ever go bust as those stores are the backbone of the company. The high street stores don’t make much money at all, so I am surprised they are still going. But I suppose they can afford to keep them, to keep the name on the high street, while they are still making plenty on travel.

Yeah I'm always surprised to see WH Smiths open on the high street as they never seem to be busy, and although some stuff is good on offer, they don't seem to offer anything very unique. Bookshops such as Waterstones that have obviously suffered due to amazon offer a bit more of an experience at least than a dirty shop with hardly any staff.

Someaddedsugar · 29/10/2021 08:39

@bigarse1 I think a Yoto is different to a CD player as it's more interactive and would be similar to his 121 reading him a story possibly? I'm sure other posters on here will have them and will know more! It has a little light up screen on the front too that I think makes a shape of a character from the story. I suppose it's a child friendly audio book player rather than a music player?

We bought a Toniebox this year as our DS is 4 and they're possibly a bit younger in style. Again other posters will know more!

Fetarabbit · 29/10/2021 08:44

I've got a yoto, i chose it over the tonie in the hope it would keep him interested for a bit longer!

It is good, the cards can be pricey but they have offers on sometimes. If you leave it on the front will display the time, you can set an alarm and use it somewhat like a gro clock and the image will turn from day to night at times you choose. You also get an app for your phone and can listen to any of the stories on there which is handy for in the car etc. There's a kids radio card and so can listen to stuff on there and it's appropriate, and blank cards so they/you/family can record messages. During covid I posted some out to family and they recorded themselves reading stories for DS to listen to before bed which was lovely.

It's built to be sturdy against young hands, the buttons are big and it's well protected, the cards are pretty sturdy too. I really like it, there are usually codes floating around for money off the starter pack.

Fetarabbit · 29/10/2021 08:45

It is for stories etc and compatible cards rather than a music player though.

Anyone seen good quality fidget toys? The last poppet we had fell apart the day he got it. Awaiting ASD and ADHD assessment. Thanks

NoWordForFluffy · 29/10/2021 08:52

@bigarse1, Spooky20 gets 20% off white chocolate at Moo Free this weekend.

DessieSaysDiy · 29/10/2021 08:54

Anyone know how to order a nomination bracelet and charms for less?? Seen some places we’re offering a free silver looking (metal?) bracelet if you bought 2 charms at 30 each
Anyone know if that’s a good bracelet??
Tia

We managed to get a brilliant bag from Amazon once with an offer. Will see if I can remember the seller. We have had lots of luck with theraputty (the proper one), a body sock and a chair roller. Not cheap though. Do you have an ikea spinning chair? They are amazing and you can usually pick them up second hand. The works are good as well for lots of little fidget bits

Thanks. I will investigate further. I don't think he would listen to stories by anyone else given his reactions to story CDs and his 1-2-1 trying but it may work in terms of me being able to pre record. Thanks

Thank you. I will investigate. I'm not sure if it would work for him or not. We just seem to be amassing a pile of stuff for him. Last year I sold off some stuff I had bought when he was a toddler as I realised he just wouldn't ever have the capacity to use them. That managed to fund some 1-2-1 swimming for him
